Depending on which version of the Hustle you have, they may have the FIT system to adjust the shape in the nose/cheek area. Look for the little plastic screws here. They're still not best for wide faces but it might give you a little better fit.

The Recoil XI that Scott still makes is the old model 87/89 just renamed. Still uses the same lenses I believe.

Oh yeah.. I can totally feel a frame clapped out after 5 hrs. That's the aluminum ones. Only 3 hrs on a KTM and it's unrideable, especially in the whoops. But it really depends on how much rust patina is on the inside of the tubes. So maybe only 2 hrs ... more »

You are correct that the Hustle is best for narrow faces. It has a very hard curve to it. The Tyrant and the Hustle both used the same lenses and the Tyrant was better for wider/flatter faces. I think Scott stopped producing both the Hustle and the Tyrant ... more »

Added reply in a thread '99 KX125 Cylinder Head - HELP! 12/12/2017 3:36 PM

When shaving the head or top of cylinder, there are 2 things that you have to be careful of. The o-ring grooves (if so equipped) can get too shallow to properly hold the o-rings and the holes that any alignment dowels go in can get too shallow and prevent ... more »

Sometimes on 4-stoke engines when you overfill the oil you increase the crankcase pressure and bad things happen. Like pushing oil out the crankcase breather hose or popping seals out. Is this not an issue when overfillling the 17-18 CRF450 ?

Rode plenty of bikes with the 46mm KYB's back in the day that were made to be very good. They are also very simple to revalve yourself

I'm guessing the block of plastic is a chain tensioner that fell out of place and that is why the chain is so loose.

Yes, I absolutely could feel 7 lbs added to my YZ125 or YZ250. And I personally like being able to just throw the bike in the truck and go ride and not have to worry about keeping a battery charged. Just one more thing to deal with for little to no benefit. ... more »

On the KTM65 you can't adjust the air screw with the carb in position on the bike. It is blocked behind the shock. Dumb. And the thing breaks pipe springs about every other moto. Some people over state the quality on these things I think.

Not cone section. BS.

Aaahhh.. so it's time for the annual YZ65 thread I see. There are a few guys here who will keep doing this and, based on sheer probability, they might be right one year. It will be a huge "told ya so" win for them.

For the love of god... please don't let that hideous giant hippo of a chassis that the 4-strokes use anywhere near the 2-strokes. For starters, it's fugly...... And why on earth would you want e-start on a 2-stroke? They fire up 1st kick easily. All ... more »

See the black spooge running down from the powervalve shaft ? That's not supposed to be there. There's a seal on the shaft that is supposed to keep that in the powervalve housing inside the cylinder.

Pretty sure you can just slide the CRF250 forks into your 125 clamps. Any reason you want to use the CRF250 clamps?

Added reply in a thread 2 stroke tear down/rebuild 12/3/2017 4:54 PM

Looks like you need to replace the powervalve shaft seal.

Not sure about the compatibility of the spokes and rim but experience has shown that almost any heavy duty aftermarket spoke requires the holes in the CRF hub to be drilled out.

I highly recommend anyone watch this video before forming opinions about the Deegans. Happened across this just by chance when it was live and came away with a pretty good impression of Brian, Haiden, and the rest of the family. https://www.facebook.com/TransWorldMoto/videos/10154508890753031/ ... more »

Added reply in a thread Cylinder Works aftermarket YZ250 head 11/23/2017 9:22 PM

Yeah, that's what I basically figured. The issue is, it fits 99-2017 and the compression changed a few times in there. So is it the same as a stock 2005 or stock 2016?? Also, the stock YZ250 squish is a little suspect so it would have made sense if they ... more »
