I enjoyed watching the minis. Excellent racing there!

Mine's a 16. Love the bike! I do sort of wish it had the air forks, but I put stiffer springs front and back and fiddled with the clickers until I got it to feel pretty good. I'm 225 and I can still pull holeshots with this bike.

I have both a 250 sxf and a 250 sx (both 2016s) and when I rode a 350 sxf I thought it felt very much like my 250 sxf - light and easy to ride - but with quite a lot harder pull. The 450 sxf I rode felt like much more of a handful - much heavier feeling, ... more »

I take it that he was kidding. Or it's funny how Honda started offering said contingency cash when they improved their bike.

Does it really? The KTM doesn't and it's pretty much the same.

http://www.dirtrider.com/2018-450-mx-shootout Just posted today. What stood out to me is that the Husky finished last. I own KTMs and have never ridden a Husky. Are they really that different that they should finish so far apart in a shootout? I recall ... more »

I have a 16 250 sxf and I've ridden both the 17 Honda and KTM 450s (not back to back), each right after getting off of my 250. Going from my 250 to the Honda 450, I was surprised by how light the Honda felt. Going from my 250 to the KTM 450, I thought ... more »

You'll probably be able to ride a 250 2 stroke, but you will also probably be tentative and uneasy about it, at least for a while (I say this from experience). Flywheel weights and pipes help but not much. If you get a 125 or 150 2 stroke, you'll be ... more »

KTM - I have a 2016 250 sxf and am very happy with it. However, as others have pointed out, the price difference between the KTM/Husky and Japanese bikes can make the Japanese bikes enticing, even to those who otherwise like the KTM/Husky. That price ... more »

I'm not sure going from a TTR 225 to a 450 or 250 2 stroke is the best idea. I just got back into riding a few years ago after over 20 years and the first bike I bought was a YZ 250 2 stroke. That was a mistake. I was never comfortable on the bike - ... more »

Another vote for the 125 2 stroke. The YZ is probably the best choice, but realistically, any brand will do just fine - condition matters more than brand. I am the father of a 15 year old who is just learning how to ride, and I got him a TTR 125 to develop ... more »

The TM 125 I talked about in my prior post. Great little bike with high quality components and a fantastic, screaming engine.

I'm 45 and just got back into riding again at 43 after 20 + years of not touching a bike. I initially bought a YZ 250 2 stroke. I was somewhat oblivious to just how much of a beginner I was going to be - especially on the local sand track. After struggling ... more »
