Today i tried your method on my frame. The red scotch brite and wd40 is not giving me the finish like your frame has ? It gives me a scratchy finish.. Maybe the red scotch brite i have is to rough ??

You could be right ! I have a 2000 CR250 and the sub frame looks indeed the same.

There is nothing missing on the subframe. Your silencer should have 2 mounting tabs, 1 should line up with the extra mounting tab you have on the right side of the sub frame and the other tab of the silencer should line up with the hole where you mount ... more »

Yes, They also have a brake pedal guard mounted on the right side of the chassis (as seen in the picture). The mountings were welded to the frame by the factory. More knowledge about HRC frames i don't have. I'm excited to see this project finished !

Nice shop ! Good job on the frame looks really great ! But how did you get the tight deep spots at the inside of the frame so clean ? I'm also stripping my CR250 00 winter project, Will probably build again a RC 2001 MXoN replica but this time more detailed..

Ricky indeed raced Kawasaki in 2001 but quit after the last national in steel city. When he switched to honda they would let him race a 01 CR250 for MXoN only.

I always pushed the key of my van between the tire and the ground or hide it under the bumper.. and anything else locked in the van out of sight !

I know this stuff but never used it.. But i think it will peel off when high pressure cleaning the wheels after a muddy ride ? i don't know the quality of it. But definitely worth trying. Honestly i don't think it will last for years..

Side to side is ok but not to much.. Like captmoto mentioned you should measure it with a feeler gauge, You will find the tolerance spec in the service manual. But if the crank has 20K miles on it ? maybe it's time to change the crank while the engine ... more »
