US Open

My wife and I went to Las Vegas last weekend for the US Open. She is such a trooper because Friday (the 13th ugh!) was our 5th anniversary. It cost me two tickets to The Phantom of the Opera and a dinner at Emerils but what the heck I still got to go to the race. The race itself was really fun even my wife enjoyed it, especially Friday nights race when Ricky Carmicheal fell at the start and worked his way through the pack all the way up to second. The second night was a blast as well Because Hotsauce got the hole shot and DV12 was right behind then Hotsauce fell and DV12 led the race with RC and JBS chasing. DV led till lap 7 or 8 the crowd was going nuts. DV12 also stole the show during the superpole when instead of going for time he rode his lap in goon style. The whole place was laughing.

But the best time of the weekend for me was going to the pits on Friday morning. I guess not a lot of people had gotten there yet and there were no crowds. You could walk right up and talk to the riders. I got a pic with a ton of MX stars. I got a pic with KDub, RC, TFS, GuyB, Erin Bates, Davi Millsaps, DV12, and one of my faves Chad Johnson. I then watched the track during practice where it came outside of the building. We were right there and I got a lot of excellent pics (by my amateur standards). I took somewhere around 450 pictures thanks to my new mega card for my camera. It is amazing I took 450 pics and it still had room for 300 more.
