Four minutes into the moto, Savatgy bobbled and lost third place to Zach Osborne. Seven minutes into the moto, Cianciarulo had stretched his lead to three seconds over Forkner. Webb continued to charge through the pack after a bad start, and he was in 11th place by the 10 minute mark. 13 minutes into the moto, Forkner snuck up on Cianciarulo like a ninja and made the pass for the lead. Smelling blood in the water, Osborne made the move on Cianciarulo for second shortly after Forkner moved into the lead. Osborne then started to close up on Forkner, and he made an aggressive move to take the lead 18 minutes into the moto. At the very end of the moto, Webb caught up to Cianciarulo and passed him for third, and then Alex Martin passed Cianciarulo for fourth with three laps to go.
