Looking at all the 90's MX gear in Newmann's thread about favourite MX clothing has inspired me to start this thread dedicated to ANYTHING moto in the 90's.

MX and SX was epic in the 90's and my favourite decade by far. It was the decade that introduced us to flouro riding gear, Jeremy McGrath, 18 wheelers and million $$$ contracts.

Whether it's riders, bikes, races, battles, products, custom painted helmets (there were some awesome lids in the 90's) or anything else, let us know about it.

I'll kick it off with one of my favourite pics of my favourite rider, the King, MC in 1996.

Jeff "Chicken" Matiasevich had some epic battles in the 90's, many of which were 'last man standing' battles Laughing

Chicken and Cooper 1990 125 Nationals

Chicken & JMB 1990 125 Nationals

Chicken was a title contender in his first year in 250 SX, 1990

Chicken and JMB, Perris 1990

Interesting thread.......I've been throwing around the idea of buying a 95-96 cr 125 or 250. I had some of the most fun racing I ever had in the B class in those years.

Yeah I've had a 95 and 96 CR250. Awesome bikes even today. The hot tip is to slip a set of late model CRF forks on them Wink

I remember when I bought my 95. I thought it was the coolest looking bike ever! I

I'm looking for a clean 96 myself.

People like to bash the 90's mx scene, it was all party party, but we had some really fast and hard nose racing then! I grew up on 90's moto.

Perimeter frame. Kawasaki launched the first perimeter framed motocross bikes in 1990 with the KX125 & KX250

I have '08 CRF450 forks on my '95. After some shock revalving, the suspension feels completely modern. Great bike.

Thanks Cam. I was hoping you or DJ would post a pic of your bikes. Damn that 95 is a clean bike.

Note to JB19. The 95 is easier to adapt late model forks to as the bottom tripple clamp is the same size as the late model forks. You only need to upgrade to a newer top clamp. Correct Cam?

To complete the Twin Chamber Showa fork swap, you need a 96 CR250 or 97 CR125 bottom clamp. The fork bores will need to be shimmed with .010" thick aluminum sheet. It also requires a late model axle and left wheel spacer. If you use 05-up forks, you'll need a 05-up brake caliper hanger.

Good info. I remember the mid stroke harshness that the stock forks had. Man, it would blur your vision sometimes..........that, and how fast motor on those bikes were. :-)
