with the MX1 title wrapped up, and the MX2 all but a formality, the points race in the womans class is very tight
4 riders within 5 points, all hold there own destiny in their hands, win both motos and you are the champ, should be good,

1 85 Van De Ven, N. NED YAM 193
2 151 Duncan, C. NZL YAM 191 -
3 114 Lancelot, L. FRA KAW 190
4 8 Fontanesi, K. ITA YAM 188

That's pretty cool. So I'll probably be watching my first WMX motos this season next weekend.
Lancelot will retire after that race, too.

Hope Nancy pulls it off after what happened to her in round 1

tomorrow is going 2 be crazy. Duncan seems pretty much out of it unlucky with those backmarkers on that jump. If those girls finish tied in points will it be about GP wins or moto wins?
9/16/2017 7:22am
What a wild race that was. At the end a whole uphill was blocked by downed riders Blink

Tomorrow should be good, all on the line..!

If Lancelot wins tomorrow, Fontanesi finishes second and Van de Ven third - we will have the first 3 riders equal in points :D

Its just crazy for the championship - if it goes for moto wins Fontanesi would only have two, while Lancelot and Van de Ven would be tied with 3 moto wins..

If it goes for the overall/GP wins - Fontanesi would have two, while Lancelot and Van de Ven would only have 1..

What happens when Lancelot and Van de Ven tie?
They are also tied on moto wins and GP wins Pinch

What is the weather forecast for tomorrow?

I hope it rains again. You can't beat a mudder.

If the points are tied I'm pretty sure the tie breaker goes to the person with the most overall wins just like AMA.

If overall wins are the same I believe it then goes to the one with the most moto wins and if that's also tied I think it then goes to the one who had the last moto win.

Highly unlikely scenario to go down to the last moto win. Would be something else to see that's for sure.

watch this space...... i believe 2 protests have been filed regarding this win, both against Fontanesi.... not sure how it's going to work, but it seems like it was to do with Fontanesi going off the track to make the pass for the lead

Looks like they gave Duncan the win after all. Not sure what happened but this page says Duncan was the winner.

I have no idea what the protests might have been, maybe that the other riders left the course to get around the pile up on the hill?

Will be interesting to see why the change

How did Duncan end up winning this ? Did they cut the last lap out of the results or something ? She ended 4th i believe way behind... This is some weird stuff.

The announcers were calling her in at 6th, obviously it involves what ever happened on the hill with everyone down.

Which I think is quite fair since the entire track was blocked on that uphill. It was pure luck if you passed there without being screwed.

But it sure was a fun race to watch

They cut out the last two laps.

For sure the race conditions weren't exactly "normal"...
That's how Duncan (far right) lost it all in the last lap with a 20s lead...
She had nowhere to go, tried to climb the hill of track, slid and fell (her short stature sure doesn't help) to end up stuck in a fence...

Yes, just seen that...
Hard to figure.

Boo. I agree with dropping the last lap if the track was impassable, which it was. You had to exit the track to make it up the hill. Will be interesting to see how they decide on a ruling.

Agreed 100%. Thought dropping the last lap was the right call. Shitty situation all around

From Josh Coppins Racing;
"Leading by 15secs on the final lap, 5 riders were crashed which blocked the hill when Courtney arrived. She had to divert off the track to get around them resulting in a crash and getting stuck in a fence.
After a jury meeting immediately after the race, FIM decided they would award points from the lap prior due to the track being blocked and unsafe. We were then called back to the jury and they reversed the decision after seeking legal advice.
Overall she is now 4th & 9 points off the lead with her final race tomorrow. As you can imagine, Courtney and the team are disappointed however she will go out tomorrow and give it her all. Thanks for all your support from around the world and especially our sponsors."

She had nowhere to go, it was just a huge lottery and her result is pretty unfair.
But to be honest Lancelot lost a lot of points in Indonesia in very similar conditions when she got stuck in a giant mudhole, and the FIM jury did nothing either.
