Is that a doma silencer? Did it fit with that scalvini alright?
Yeah all 2 stroke pipes/silencers pretty much seem to meet in the same place. The Scalvini needed modification though, not to fit the silencer just to line up the bolts to fit the bike as both mounts were way off. I took all logos off for that extra big of factory look.

Going back through this thread and that Yamaha with the Pulpmx graphics on it is legit!

Any one know the story on it?
It was a bike that chris blose borrowed to try and qualify for Hangtown last year,.....it was cool, but kind of a media stunt. He rode it pretty good, but it was disheartning watching the 450's walk away from him up the hills.Sad

HA HA HA HA HA!!!!! Absolutely 100% correct... Not many were able to hang with KW that year, I know I couldn't. In all honesty, I have no doubt in my mind his bike was legal. But I also know it walked away from guys with 105 kits. I actually learned about the 105 kits after LL because a fellow competitor's father attempted to sell his 105 to my dad for me. We did not buy it. I'll also say that same year, Eric Gore did my modified bike and I grenaded the engine early in moto 1. It was the fastest bike I had ever ridden. The nice guy at the Suzuki support van was able to save the cases but everything else had to be replaced. The replacement he built was stock, but was just as strong as the Eric Gore motor and it lasted forever. I think the parts and tolerances must have been spot on. I think that might be one of the major differences in the bikes the top guys had over mid-level guys like me. Although we tried our best, our tolerances just wern't as good as theirs and I think that makes a huge difference.

The Bob Moore bike: Look at the seat, one would think the Yamaha guys back then would all have been castrated when riding Woohoo

I was actually trying to go off memory, rather than just that pic. But both 97 and 98's were so cool. Great era for sure.
Totally agree, the best era IMO.
I had a hard on for the YZ`s and CR`s back in the late 90`s - they looked so damn good!

I'm torn between Pit Beirer's KTM SX250 or MC's Honda CR250 as to which is the sexiest.

Oh, I see. Pardon my ignorance.

Does anyone have photos of Frederic Bolley's '02 Yamaha or his '99, '00 and '01 Honda's? I seem to remember they were pretty sweet.

But the Kawasaki team got that bike in 2002 to test and race so it could be ready for production in 2003. They tend to get bikes 1 year early in Europe.

I looked into an Athena cylinder kit on the home page. Why on earth are they so much more expensive from VHM in Holland, than from any shop in the US? We`re talking almost twice the price
