Change structure to have A and B in each displacement class. Do all qualifying during the day to pick 44 spots. If you qualify 1-22 you are in A. If you qualify 23-44 you are in B. Do two mains in the night show for A class 15 laps. One for B So that 6 races. Its senseless to have whoever is the last place qualifier to race ryan dungey, however, I think it would be highly entertaining to watch riders 23-44 collectively. Each race lasting approx 20 min will keep everyone tuned in and good for commercials between each race. There will be no championship points paid for anyone who races in a B class. Just exposure and a chance to win for once in their career.....And yes less jumps and more passing ops for track. If you get a bad start you still have another chance.

It would be an awesome night of racing, I might know who #72 is and that is good for all. Sport will grow as a result.

There's so much wrong with this... but the main thing is the math. The races wouldn't last approximately 20 mins if they're 15 lap mains. They'd be more around the 13-14 minute mark...

They would easily last 20 min for each segment. You gotta line the boyz up, chat a bit, start and then podium interviews.....I am thinking a 3 hour program.

Yeah totally. F the title sponsor. Those scumbags that pump money into the sport year after year don't deserve any credit.

Here's is what they need. Go complete NASCAR..... have timed qualifying that is never shown and show just the main events. It's wayyyyy to long for the casual observer to pop in and watch it. By the time the program makes it to the Semi's they're watching re-runs of Seinfeld on TBS

I always love the concept of more racing and have more support for the privateers but what's to keep the guys who qualify around 20th from sandbagging to win the B class and get more recognition?

While you have your opinion, which isn't alone, if Monster pulled all their sponsorship in motorsports, our sport would suffer. Imagine if RedBull, Monster and Rockstar pulled out tomorrow.... Who would pay the riders salaries of the top riders ?

Seriously, it's a problem, but it's too late now !!

They would cut to commercial before the races started, then race, go to commercial right after, do the interviews, go back to commercial, etc.

How are you going to split up the purse between so many classes? Thats already a huge issue.

The last place in the A group earns more money than first in B group. That keeps someone from sandbagging.

2 moto main
1st. main as usual
2nd. main inverted 22 riders so many feet apart, single file start, neutral start 2 hands on helmet second moto invert

don't see how you could sand bag... example Dungey first main moto over Stewie....
Stewie would start 21st. Dungey 22nd

it would be fun to watch except for the fact the top 10 are so much faster somebody could get landed on

Could you see Dungey in the second moto main trying to get around Stewie, Tomac, Roczen, Reed and the rest...

it was tryed before but was set up for sand bagging...

Love to see it done outdoors with a timed gate handicap per rider but the roost...

We need something we can slam onto network TV for an hour..... this 3 hour commercial fest isn't appealing to the casual observer. If it was a quick hit, action packed broadcast it would get more valuable tv space, exposure, and hopefully bigger more corporate sponsorship dollars

Very good logic. Think about the fact you have a freakin' Stadium rented for the weekend, and you race on the track for a short period of time. So much could be incorporated into the venue and event.

why do you care so much about the casual observer? imo a one hour sx show would suck. if the broadcast is to long for you, then only watch the main events.
its great to kick back on a cold ass saturday night and watch SX for 3 hours. You can have the big corporate money and exposure, imo that is a double edged sword and could very easily make it worse.

Forcing the sport to be bigger is not necessarily a good thing. I think Fox did some great things last year and SX is doing fine

In my opinion, the powers that be went the wrong direction when they upped it to 22 rider main events in the 450 class.

SX needs all of the heavy hitters up front at the start and less of, for lack of a better term, the "also rans" getting in the way, playing block, while the leaders get away.

I think something like a "B-Main" should actually be considered. Guys like Chisholm and Albertson would gain a lot more exposure battling for the win in the B-Main than they ever will duking it out for 15th in the current format.

SX is already a show. Why not try to make it a better one?

Because the casual observer is who the TV broadcast is aimed at? Trying to get new viewers to the sport and grow it. It's not rocket science. I agree we need a hour to two hour show with more action than what we have now

Respectfully disagree with your opinion. 22 rider mains and semis helped the privateers get more track time and more exposure which is good for them and the sport IMO.

2 moto formats work with the National core fans but SX is different. 99% of the fans would go home thinking the rider who won the last moto was the winner.....even if he dnf moto one.

SX needs to be simple. 1 main for each class

And the exposure factor is why I think they'd be better off in a "B-Main", where the spotlight is entirely on them, while the top 15 or so contenders go at it in the "A-Main".

I think the issues motorsports in general are facing can't be fixed within the sport, itself. Motorsports are expensive, there's no way around it. Until more people have more disposable income again, nothing will change.

I would consider myself a real fan. I watch every heat, semi, LCQ, and main event. Every moto outdoors, some GP's, etc. I love it. When I try to show others the excitement of watching the races their attention span is not there. "It's already been a hour and a half, is the important (main event) race even on yet?"

The TV slot needs to be shorter. Cut the qualifying, 2 long main events for both 250 and 450 class. 2 hour time slot, and ALL of the racing you see on TV actually matters.
