What I don't understand here is whether or not Kenny is racing...

He said no to MEC, but this is only a week later. Is he racing? Sounds like he is going to show up on MCs 1996 CR250? No?

RBSR is an exhibition race/spectacle. His results would not matter, just like for everyone else that participates. I would actually not be that surprised to see him line up.

"It’s official! The sounds and smells of the ‘90s are back with the Ken Roczen Two-Stroke Shootout at Red Bull Straight Rhythm. This eight-man bracketed competition will be exclusively for bikes with two-stroke engines, and will be hosted by Ken Roczen (who unfortunately won’t race as he is still recuperating). The two-stroke competitors will race head-to-head on October 21 on a half-mile rhythm track with no turns at Fairplex in Pomona, CA. In addition to this popular “two-smokers” class, the event will once again contain a Lites Class (250cc and below) and an Open Class (greater that 250cc).

Stay tuned for official rider announcements in the near future (you maybe have gotten some hints already)."

I mean awesome, but does anyone else think it's weird that it's hosted by Roczen? A rider who rides for the company who is the most adamant of any manufacturer that they will never make another two-stroke bike?

He's not racing, I think that's for the better

It is kind of weird that he's the "host," I would have thought of TP to come back, host it AND ride as he's such a great catch

I'm guessing Kenny will be in the booth at some point which will be awesome, adds to the things to look forward to this year with straight rhythm

Edit: Was he really just the first dude to literally call out JS7 on insta? (good stuff, Jeremy Malott)

Red Bull must be funding the majority of his contract as I can't see Honda being too enthused about their top riders two stroke antics. However I, like others here, think it is A OK.

I remember TP and Ronnie showing up. However, I can't recall seeing TP, CR, RC, JS, RV, AC, etc running head to head in a 2 stroke only class just for fun. Not even saying the majority of them are showing, but it is fun to think about the new addition

Its not personal and only a business decision by Honda to no longer produce 2 strokes. Glad KR is racing, but I'm sure he would have no problem running what Honda refers to as outdated technology in a fun event.
