@twmxdotcom: It's official, @js7 announced today that he has a torn ACL in the knee he tweaked at A1.

Guess that means no outdoors.

@twmxdotcom: @js7 will still be racing the entire Supercross series in spite of his knee injury.

the real point is this... why not get it fixed and see you in the outdoors? tough sombitch to ride it out.

oh well, all the fans (love him or hate him) will get a comfortable seat to watch him finish behind 5th and ahead of 10th for a full season.

truly sucks. first big guy to have an injury.

How long is his Suzuki deal? If it's a one year deal I doubt he will be able to get a ride next year.

He will always be able to get a ride, just might have to take a decent pay cut in 2014. Sucks SX and MX for that matter is much better with a fully fit JS7

Bummer. But just because you tear it, doesn't mean you't can't carry on. Of the many suggestion to "fix this", physiotherapy to strengthen the muscles and skip any of the many classic operations is winning more ground.

Maybe outdoors was toasted anyway, maybe outdoors could happen despite this?

We know shit at this point other than this will hold him back to some extent for sure.

He can't catch a break. Sad to see how his career has went downhill the last few years.

He will get better quickly - if the rest of the knee structure is solid and unhurt, with the right therapy and time, a moto athlete can be 100 percent capable to do what is needed on the bike despite the acl..

I actually think DV12 talked about this on here before, plus something along the lines MC never had an ACL his pro career...

I bet we see stewart up front soon...so long as no other serious tweaks on the knee...

Been saying this for what 2 weeks now....

If he gets it operated on he needs to go ahead and get some titanium alloy knees installed. That's what they make the space shuttles out of!

The only catch to that is the knee will be weak. If he tweaks it again you start back over on your rehab and attempt to control the swelling. Any wrong dab can set him back weeks or months in recovery or just make the tear worse.

Well outdoors 2012 was short lived and probably no 2013 outdoors. If he skipped the rest of SX would he be able and willing to do outdoors? Or would he rather stick to SX, even if his performance is below par and skip outdoors again? I think he is wanting to do SX over the outdoors anyways. Now he can not do outdoors "just for the fans" and if he doesn't do well in SX it will be written off due to the injury. Unfortunately, I think having to skip anything is starting to make him more and more irrelevant, regardless of the cause. Not hating on him, just saying the MX fan's ADD/short term memory is going to start kicking in.

There is no way he can get healthy in 4 month after ACL surgery.

That really really sucks to hear. Can't believe he's going to tough it out. When I tore my ACL I tried to race still and when my leg would shift/move wrong it would hurt so bad. I can't imagine trying to hold on through giant whoops and timing tricky rhythm sections.

Lot of riders tried it but nearly everytime ends up with a more complicated kneesurgery. Often many other ligaments etc get worn out. Stewart raced same evening as it happend and thats even more amazing? Well i guess they have some real good shots for the final. Otherwise the pain must been too much? JS riding in maybe 80% of hic capacity and still being a top guy. He got some serius skills. Cruisi'n around and can probably make a podium when first swelling goes down. I don't think he train a single lap between races now? He is maybe fighting for his career this time?

Well I guess the fat lady is about to start singing on JS7's career. What a shame it goes down like this.. Just goes to show how insane it was that both Everts and RC went out the way they did, on top and still winning.

I'd hate to be wrong on this one but I can't even see him winning another race let alone a championship..

This reminds me of Inside the Outdoors Josh Grant story, how he was trying to race with busted up knee. Fucking whole deal sucks.

To start riding and to compete in AMA Nationals is two different things, don`t you think?

What year was "The Perfect Storm" phrase coined? was it '05 or '06?

I feel that whoever came up w/ that phrase put a lifetime jinx on the 450 class! Blink

Sad .... I feel so bad for the guy. I was really hoping this was going to be his come-back year where we would see some of the old Bubba. Most of us have been waiting for this season to finally see a comfortable and mature James but we are cut short again. It's a major bummer for him and his fans. Maybe I'm talking too soon and we will have to see how bad it really is on Saturday night. I won't be surprised if he decides not to race after practice. I also won't be surprised to see him win the damn thing! Go JS7!

Bummer about his knee but isn't stewart sx only? I remember reading about that on this forum and he was only riding the
outdoors because he wanted to.

05, and 06 was one of the greatest years of SX ever. So it's all about 2014 Laughing

You are wrong. He was riding last years outdoors for free cause his contract with Suzuki kicked in only this year.
