Technically it's a TTR with a big bore kit so not as advanced as the Honda and I doubt it could hang with the Honda in fast sections. But in slower technical stuff that TTR is amazing. It looks like a blast to ride and I don't think anyone could have done better unless Yamaha had built it in house.

Did Yamaha not have a 150 race bike behind closed doors before the CRF150R?

Development started in the early 2000s but they didn't want to pull the trigger as the AMA wouldn't make up their minds on a displacement (they tried a few sizes).

That is the ultimate TTR125 playbike (bored to 150cc)!! But it is no way a match for a CRF150RB. It would be more evenly matched against my modified KLX140L. I'd love to have it though!!

Come on colorado2day, that is not a Yamaha race bike. That is a overpriced and overkill toy for either the rich or the pussies who won't sack up on a real bike.

I don't see that bike making it more then a few laps. You would be able to hold it pinned the entire time and clutch it thru the corners you couldn't. I have a TTR, the girls ride it barefooted. Its good on gas tho!

It looks good, I give it that. But I know that me personally can get on any kids 85 at about any local track and do all the jumps and get around just fine. I don't see that being realistic with a ttr.

rongi was asking about the real Yamaha race bike that didn't surface.

....or it's for somebody who loves bad ass dirt bikes of any shape or size. Only for the rich or pussies? I disagree, because I'm neither and I'd love to ride the fucking wheels off that masterpiece.

I would ride the lioving shit outta that thing! Would be awesome to get on a smaller type / bigger pit bike track with about 20 other dudes and go tear it up. I got a chance to ride one of them $25,000 perimeter framed BBR Honda 150's years ago at my indoor track.....probably the coolest machine I've ever thrown a leg over. Almost exactly like this but quite a bit nicer. The BBR boys used to come down to the track a few times a year.

BTW...there is a guy on here I know very well ( Joel you listening? ) That jumped on his little privateer pit bike and waxed the entire field by over a 1/2 a lap in the main. Including the entire factory BBR team....it was a site to be seen!

In regards to air cooled minibikes, some people just don't get it... but the rest of us realize just how much fun they are on the right type of track.

This one-off KLX140 the guys at BBR just finished is totally bitchin' too: https://instagram.com/p/BOxQdG4gBKb/

This is really what they should be building for kids. Air-cooled inexpensive 2 strokes

As far as I recall, the bike, or bikes still exist someplace, was sitting in a warehouse under a tarp.

They have, but I wouldn't say inexpensive.

That ttr150 rips. Carson raced it a bit up here during the friday night series. Kids fast and definitely is not just another ttr.
