I realize this is unknown at this time but the SR-71 started development almost 20 years before many really knew of its existence. It seems that there is too much smoke to deny that an Aurora like plane isnt out there. Current theory is saying it to be around mach 8 upwards of 8 thousand mph (of course some sort of SCRAM). Not so sure about all that but there are satillite con trails that are visible from Nevada to Russia and China. The pulse wave con trail is continous and suggests a speed of around 8K MPH. Any thoughts?
Just think, Mach 3 was achievable in the 60's, and that was when it was produced. We have since made many major strides in aerodynamics, engines etc. No reason to not believe we have capabilities to go Mach 8 or better 50 years later.
Any rocket scientist's on this board? lol

Your last paragraph is exactly what II think. For instance, look at the development of an SR-71 only 50 years after flight was acheived at all. So, it really isnt a stretch to think that 50 years after the SR-71 that huge jumps in technology have happened and wejust dont know what those changes are.
Edit: Forgot to add, that as far as I know the plans for planes that fly at that speed are unmanned.
Not trying to argue, just trying to understand.
"Gravity changes with altitude. The gravitational force is proportional to 1/R2, where R is your distance from the center of the Earth."
"Gravity decreases with altitude as one rises above the Earth's surface because greater altitude means greater distance from the Earth's center. "
BTW, I think lockheed has named the craft the SR72.
The Blackbird was way ahead of its time and is one of my favorite aircraft to this day.
The aircraft they fly out of Area 51 would be a sight to see.
I was really bummed when they decommissioned the Blackbird but I guess the cost of operating it turned out to be too much.
I also have some friends that had some stories as well.
One worked at Lockheed on the F-117 and another guy who worked at Burbank Airport. ( that is where Skunkworks existed, in Burbank).
He would tell me in the middle of the night they would shut down the airport and with guards all around the C-117 Transport Aircraft they would load a mysteriously cloaked aircraft into it and probably take it up to Area 51 for test flights.
Pit Row
The initial naming was RS71. Somewhere along the way it was labeled as the SR 71 and it just stuck
Yeah,I'd assume it's responsible for some "UFO sightings".
No telling what kind of stuff they have in the works (classified) these days as far as manned aircraft goes.
Void is right on.
Now, let's talk about seat bouncing....
With as many satellites as there are now, is there any square inch of the earth that is not under constant "observation"?
Post a reply to: Aurora/SR-72/SR-91 ?
