Is anyone else here watching this show? Episode 2 aired last Sunday and the show has already been renewed for season 2.

The show takes a look at life in New York City during the 70's and 80's when porn and prostitution were rampant in Manhattan. The show stars James Franco who plays twin brothers and Maggie Gyllenhaal who plays a single mother prostitute.

So far I'm enjoying the show.

Here's a couple of trailers.

Ballers season finale is Sunday. I've been watching The Deuce and right after it is Ballers followed by Vice Principals. The Deuce is a 1 hour show.

Ballers slot will be replaced with Curb Your Enthusiasm. Don't plan on watching that so will have to find a half hour show to replace it with.

If you haven't had the chance yet check out Snowfall. You can binge watch that since all the episodes have aired. It's been renewed for season 2. Plays on FX. It's about the start of the crack epidemic in the early 80's Los Angeles. Not a bad show. Downside is that it has commercial. Ad block takes care of that though.

Let me know what you think when you get around to watching The Deuce and/or Snowfall.

Ballers related: Do you think Ricky will play again? I really don't know with the head injury and that baby mama if his. Guess we'll find out in season 4.

Yeah, I enjoyed the first 2 episodes. Episode 3 airs tonight but I won't spoil it for you. I'll let you catch up to it on your own time. I think both James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal are doing a great job so far. Fucking pimps are total assholes but I guess if you're a women in that line of work it's almost something required.

Side Note: Concerning Ballers I really wish it was a 1 hour show and according to Dwayne Johnson he says that a lot of people are asking for it. The problem he has is that right now he's such a mega star and on top of the Hollywood game that he simply doesn't have time for it. He said going to a 1 hour show would require 6-7 months of his time. With all the commitments he's got it's easy to see why he can't do it. When the show first came out I don't think he anticipated to be such a hit. Hell I don't even watch football and absolutely love the show.

Really enjoying this show; fun writing, great cinematography, solid directing and all of the actors are amazing. Franco is really crushing this one.

Pretty damn good so far.

On another note, any of you watched The Leftovers? Started it a few weeks ago and just finished the series (3 seasons long). It's one of the best shows I've watched in a long time. Incredible music, great writing, and terrific acting. It seems to be a bit divisive with audiences, though, so I guess it's not for everyone.

Fuck winter. Winter sucks up here lol.

Not sure how many episodes you missed but there's only 2 episodes left this season which ends on the 29th of this month.

You might want to wait until then so you can binge watch the whole thing.

Man, tonight's episode was great. All I'm going to say is that Stretch doesn't fuck around. Can't wait to see the season finale next Sunday. I hope they increase the amount of episodes for season 2 from 8 to 10 or 12. This season was kind of short.

The more I watch the more it's becoming one of my favorite shows.

Can't wait.

The first season was amazing on all levels, writing, acting, shooting, editing, directing, etc.

Just a quick reminder, season 2 starts tonight at 9pm EST.

I read up on season 2 a little bit and it looks like the story jumps ahead 5 years to 1977. Candy (Maggie Gyllenhaal) takes on more of a porn producer role as opposed to porn star/street walker. After all the success Vince (James Franco) has had with his bar and massage parlor he now becomes the owner of a new mob-backed disco club. His girlfriend Abby brings in the nascent punk-rock culture to the Hi-Hat bar that Vince owns.

Vince's twin brother Frankie is still an asshole that "borrows" money from the massage parlor he manages in order to pay off his debts.

Looks like it's going to be another good season.

Saw an episode on accident and didn't know what I was watching. Looked great but I was busy and meant to see what it was. Looks like a good new one for the binge national list we have been on. Nice, thanks.

If you just stumbled onto it midway through an episode or started watching a random one, I can see how someone could go what's this? Pimps, whores, porn stars, crooks, good cops, dirty cops, murders, etc. Then there's the fact that James Franco plays twin brother's. That alone could confuse someone when they go from scene to scene. Better to start at the beginning to get the background on all the character's.

Season 2 just started last night so you're only 8 episodes behind.

The thing that sucks the most when you're not streaming a full season is having to wait a week to see the next episode.

First episode set up the season well, although it was just a tad slow. I'm looking forward to the rest.

Just want to let you guys know that after only 2 episodes have aired in season 2, that The Deuce has already been renewed for a 3rd and final season. I was wondering why it would be the final season so I looked into it a little bit. It appears that the show was always designed/planned to only have 3 seasons and to tell the story over a period that spans 14 years.

Season 1: 1971-1972
Season 2: 1977-1979
Season 3: 1984-1985

Curb is one of my all time favorites. Larry David cracked me up....and foul mouth Susie “you bald fuck!”

Picking up the hooker to use the carpool lane to the Dodger game was hilarious

i could go on and on about scenes from that show...

Larry has something stuck in his throat so he goes to the Dr. and the doc finds that a pube is tied around his uvula

Larry can't get into a plastic package so he needs a razor knife/box cutter so he goes the the store and gets one and proceeds to need it on the side of the road and it's wrapped in a plastic package

Larry pees at night sitting on the toilet and someone leaves the seat up and he destroys his back

every scene with Leon is fuckin' gold, foul-mouth Susie is good in every scene...

crazy little true story about the hooker at the Dodgers game scene... (i don't have full details, just remembering from watching the doc) this guy gets arrested for killing a 16 year old girl in a drive-by but he claims he is at the Dodger game with his daughter and even has the ticket stub. all the evidence isn't enough and they still convict him. dude remembers that there was a tv show being filmed so they go through all the footage, on-screen and out-takes. they find him in the background multiple times on-screen and he's cleared of all charges. what are the chances?

Oh man, the first episode of the last season opens up in 1984. The soundtrack alone is worth watching show. Its an outstanding season starter. Is it bad if you can relate to so many of the scenes?

Haha, maybe I was just glorifying the past when I saw the opening scenes. Cool tunes for sure. Watching it a 2nd time now and it’s a pretty dark episode.

I have a feeling it's not going to end well for Frankie. He's either going to end up in jail or he's going to fuck over the wrong guy and that'll be the end of him.

I think Vincent will end up back with his ex wife.
