Two stroke oil in Rotary engine?

A lot of the tuners seem to recommend premix at big ratios ie, 4 oz's per 14 gallons of gas. I'm kind of not sure what direction to go with my RX-8. They say only run a full syn like AMSOIL Saber Pro. What do you guys think? will I kill my cat, plug fuel pump or foul plugs? This is in addition to the stock oil injection system.

Any clue what the ratio breaks down to with the stock oil injector pump? Always considered disconnecting it on my ported 12A 82 RX7 and just running straight premix.. Had the Mikuni /loop intake and Racing Beat header. Big noisy Holley fuel pump chugging away got me down the road at about ten mpg. I pulled an 86 Corvette up to about 70 mph. That kid couldn't believe some little p.o.s. import left daddy's Corvette behind. :D

I have a few friends who run rotary engines in their sandrails. They usually do a 50 to 1 ratio or so of max 927. smells awesome! Yes it is for the apex seals these engines use. They tend to wear out quickly when running alot of boost. One guy has a 3 rotor that puts out 750hp. Its pretty badazz!

Stock oil injectoion puts a minimum of a quart every 3000 miles, so I would say about 0.05 ounces per gallon.

Three rotors sound awesome, too bad they cost so much money to buy and get running.

That ratio sounds about right for a stock car. Some of my buddies are running upwards of 20 PSI of boost. Thats why they up the ratio a bit. Your car will be fine. You can find the 3 rotors at the junkyards for pretty cheap. And man they are alot of fun in a sandrail. I would imagine in a street car with some boost they would be a blast

3 Rotor engines in junkyards??? I thought the 3 rotor was either a race only motor offered through Mazda for race purposes and was pretty high dollar? I know the third gen RX-7 had a few builders(Pete Ferrell?) outfitting some cars with them.

No way anyone is finding a 3 rotor in a junkyard over here. Mazda had a 20b 3 rotor in the Cosmo is Japan. You can import them from Japan for around $5G's used. Most the guys the put them into the 7's and 8's claim around $12G's to 20G's to get them up and running well.

You should email my buddy Josh at http://www.danzioperformance.com He is the mazda rotary guru out here. I know he has found a few of them at the junkyards. His car was one of the ones I was refering to that got 750HP out of it. He also did a couple of Toyota supra motors and got 1000HP out of them at 32psi. But they didnt do to well in the sandcars. email him, hes a really cool guy and will answer all of your questions

What would DJ Paul (aka Premix Junkie) do?

Kept at a high enough ratio, like the 450:1 you mentioned, it shouldn't foul plugs, but if you use a 2-stroke oil with phosphorus additives it will decrease the cat's lifespan. TC-W3 marine 2T oils are the typical choice for UCL in passenger cars due to their phosphorus-free formulations. I don't think it would be any different for a rotary.

20 B, (3 rotors) came out in Mazda Cosmos, which was a japanese only model, they are still pretty hard to come buy, but you can buy them around here sometimes, alot of them came in as 2nd hand imports . (we get alot of japanese 2nd hand imports here)

guys down here are building 4 and 6 rotor versions now,
