81 YZ465 been in storage since it was flipped shortly after birth. Too bad it is extremely humid here or this one would be damn near perfect. Maybe has a few hours ride time on it total. Original tires, even has the kickstand!! Levers are missing, chain is rusty, came with the enduro pouch on the crossbar. Cost me about as much as a top end rebuild costs all those fools with modern 4 bangers. Pictures suck, but the bike is pretty sweet.
The Shop
How did you find it?
Sweet. Congratualations.
Bike looks as if it rolled off the showroom floor today. Nice find.
I'll post some pictures ASAP. These old bikes are great fun, but I'll warn you, they are addictive.
That was a pretty easy bike to ride, not quite as nimble as the Maico, but I had fun on it.
Wednesday I am picking up a completely restored 82 IT425 (same monoshock as the 81 YZ465). It has the original blue plastic with it, currently has the white euro look plastic on it.
Any tips on a good source for yellow YZ plastic?
thanks!
Joe
ps- anyone have any info on the White Power shock valving and the fork damper kits? Thanks!

I may have my local suspension guy in Woodstock GA give that shop a call
Thanks!
ps- picked up the bike Monday night. Spent the last 2 nights until almost 2 am up late attending to details! Working on it brought back memories of racing YZ125's in the early 80's!
Thaks Newmann!
NOt sure I need TWO 465's though...
Not in the budget right now though....
I assume it is good quality and close match to original color?
Good stuff. But last time I talked to him he had no front fenders
