So I started the bike cold and let it idle for 2 min and I heard the motor start to sound like it was struggling,,, I reved it a bit and it blew a huge plume of white smoke then it all cleared up real quick..... WTF was that? So I just rode it easy for a few laps and no issue.

Any body experience this ???

White smoke usually is from a coolant leak.

My initial thought is that you may have sucked some air filter oil, but I've never actually seen or tested that theory. It could explain it all, but again, just a theory.

Like mentioned above if you just put a clean air filter in that's probably the culprit , or you have a leaky valve seal which isn't a big deal as long as you're not leaving a trail of smoke behind the bike when you're riding I wouldn't worry about it.

I had a valve seal start to go at about 80 hours on my 16 250f and it would smoke almost like a 2 stroke. Ran fine other than that but as stated above it was a constant smoke not just 1 puff.

I've also had this happen from going too ham with the filter oil... usually a direct result of the amount of beers consumed prior to oiling my filter.

My 450 has done this a couple of times too. It acts like it loads up like a two stroke a bit, clean it out and it is good to go.....Only happens when I use the "choke"

White smoke can also be raw fuel. It’s what diesels do when an injector starts to have an issue and dumps a lot of fuel and the engine can’t even begin to burn it and the injector usually hangs open injecting on the other 3 strokes. Black smoke is the result of being overfueled but the engine can consume it. White is still in its raw vapor form and usually results in a hydro lock. Could’ve been a hiccup with the ignition or injector.

I wasn't trying to be a smartass. It could be a bunch of things. Was just relaying my personal experience.

I should add that mine only did this on colder mornings where I had to crank the bike over slow a few times to warm the battery up.
