70hp 2017 KTM450sxf

Hi All, Does anyone have any ideas on how I could get 70hp out of a 2017 KTM 450sxf? Aslo who does methanol injection kits for these bikes? This is for a flat track bike.

Im willing to bet factory ktm doesnt even get 70hp.

Youre gonna have to go full bore on the motor. Big bore, hc piston, cams, remap, airbox mods, butterfly valve mods, head porting, a pipe. You might get 65hp... maybe. And im just throwing a number out too.

I'd reach out to Twisted Development in Murrietta Ca. I don't know if they can get you 70HP but they can get push it to the max.

Yep Dan Crower

My '17 FC350 hit 63 hp on the dyno, with his cams, a vortex ignition, pipe, and the head extrude-honed. I think Dan could get 70 out of a 450 no problem

I think 70hp is possible on good fuel and cam for high rpm sacrificing low.

+2 and +1 High flow flat valves, some good cams, r&d throttle body, good CP Piston, vortex ignition, maybe a Carrillo platinum kit? +2 rod??

Good fuel is going to make a big difference. Can sacrifice low end for more top as it's a flat tracker. Increased Rpm.. long rod kit??

Junior Jackson from Fun Mart Cycle in Illinois has been making 73-75hp KTM 450's and YZ 450's for a couple years now. Dudes motors are legit! Very pricey though.

The only cam I have found for this model is the daniel crower cam, I have not bought anything yet but on the list is, Vortex ECU, Dan Crower Cam, 14:1 Wiseco Piston. I am not convinced there is much to gain from head work on these bikes, from what I am told they are hard to improve the standard set up. Is the carillo platnum kit available for them?

I don't know about the 450 but if there is anything that can be done to the head Ron Hamp is the man for head and valve work. He did wonders to my 250sxf

Theres not a head out there that cant be improved on the big problem with the KTM is getting a cam made that will make 70 hp there are no billets and welding them does not work well the cam cant be reground to the specs it needs to be @ to make 70 hp . Theres a lot of so called 70 hp 450s out there that get there asses handed to them by engines with 62 hp its the diference in dynos and the power leading up to the peak . My dirt track engines have dominated us grand national racing for nearly 2 decades it started with rotaxes .Methanol would require a different port because of the amount of volume the menthanol displaces .I will be suporting your Mate over here Max Wales .
