Any of you guys pulled your clutch out after 3-5 hours ?

I did and mine was smoked . I know I know.. u guys gonna say could be hard on my clutch . But I’m not .

Shortly after pulling mine out I called a buddy at Hinson and asked him about it .

He was pretty clear that the issue was oil level and was known .

HRC honda even puts in more .

He said add 250-300 cc of oil .

Manual says
1k w/out filter
1040 cc with filter change .

He suggested 1300 with oil filter change .

This is after 3.1 hours .....

Just some helpful info that I haven’t seen on any forums .

I know its not the same bike but i did the same on my 15 kx250f. People used to complain about frying through clutches. Buddy suggested running 300ml more oil then stock. i did that since new, when i sold the bike the stock clutch was still mint at 60 hours.

Sometimes on 4-stoke engines when you overfill the oil you increase the crankcase pressure and bad things happen. Like pushing oil out the crankcase breather hose or popping seals out. Is this not an issue when overfillling the 17-18 CRF450 ?

I’d assume not when HRC is doing it and hinson is telling me to do so .

Time will tell but I started at the 3 hour mark so we’ll see . I’d assume it would be fine since the pressure on the head is vented to atmosphere
