3D Racing Yamaha Mid-Season Summary

3D Racing Yamaha’s Featherstone Steadily Improving

As the Monster Energy Supercross 250SX East Region series wears on, 3D Racing Yamaha’s Gradie Featherstone is starting to improve his performances and show his true potential. After failing to make the main event in his first two attempts this season, he has qualified for the 250SX main event in back-to-back weeks in both Indianapolis and Detroit.

At Round 11 in Indianapolis, Gradie would finish up combined qualifying in 28th place for the afternoon, setting him up in the first heat race of the night. He would make the most of this opportunity and qualify directly out of the heat race with a 9th place finish. In the main event, Gradie would encounter some bad luck and get tangled up with a few other riders on the opening lap. He would battle hard for the entire race and end up in 18th place at the finish. This would give him 3 points and some confidence for the following week. This was a big stepping stone for the 3D Racing Yamaha team as it has been some time since they had a rider in the main event. The “Ice” had been broken and it was on to the next round.

As the series moved on to Round 12 in Detroit, he would qualify in 29th place out of the daytime qualifying rounds. This time around Gradie was unable to make it directly into the main out of the heat race and would have to go to the LCQ to get into the main. He battled hard for the final transfer spot into the main and was able to get some good television time on the LIVE broadcast, finishing up in 4th. The main event would again prove tricky as he encountered some first turn misfortune and was unable to score any points, finishing up in 21st place.

The entire team is looking forward to building on the previous rounds at Round 13 this Saturday in St. Louis, Missouri. This will be their final race before the 250SX East Region takes a 3-week hiatus and the team would like to lead into the break with a solid performance and gain some more championship points.

3D Racing Yamaha would like to thank all of the team sponsors for helping them make this season possible: Moduline, Sunstar, Vertex pistons, Decal Works, Rekluse, Hot Cams, DT1 Filters, Mika, Rocket Exhaust, Cycra, Dunlop, VP Race Fuel, Cylinder Works, Pivot Works, Gaerne, Moto Tassinari, Finkilday, Capeway Rovers Mx, Defiance, Lawn Barber, North East Financial, Acutabove Trees, Spec Bolt, Hammerhead, and 3D Upholstery.e He
