Hayden Mellross Returns for 2017

Livingston, CA. (December 16, 2016) -The 51FIFTY Energy Drink Yamaha Racing Team is pleased to announce the return of Hayden Mellross for the 2017 Supercross season. After a breakout rookie season, the team is excited to have Hayden back with a solid year of Supercross experience under his belt.

In addition to a great Supercross season stateside with several top finishes, Hayden came within a 45 seconds of winning the Australian 250 SX title this past winter. Hayden dominated the series needing only an 8th to clinch the title when he was beset by a mechanical issue while in 2nd place with a lap to go. He's back and hungry for revenge. Hayden trains with former Yamaha Factory racer Tim "Red Dog" Ferry and has honed his skills over the past year entering the '17 season more confident and prepared.

Hayden is a fit, clean-looking, smooth-talking Aussie feared by men on the track but clamored upon by the ladies off it. His positive attitude and determination exemplify the 51FIFTY "Live The Madness" motto.

"I'm stoked to return to the 51FIFTY Energy Drink Yamaha team," says Hayden. "We had a solid rookie season together and it's nice to be back with all the familiar faces. I'm fired up for this year and ready to keep the pre-season momentum rolling into Anaheim."

"Having Hayden back on the team is huge for us", states Team Owner Carlos Vieira. "He's grown tremendously as a rider and we're excited to continue to push forward in the sport together. We've got a great team this year, and with added support from Yamaha and our other sponsors, we're set to have a break out year as team."

Cheer on Mellross and his #64 Braxton Edwards-tuned Yamaha YZ250F at the 51FIFTY Energy Drink semi truck and throughout the Supercross season starting at the opener in Anaheim, California on January 7, 2017.
