Angels Of Dirt, the independent documentary in-production celebrating the fearless young women who race motorcycles, has launched a crowdfunding campaign to support the production of the feature length film.
Launched in 2006 by award-winning director, Wendy Schneider (The Smart Studios Story, currently on iTunes/Amazon), Angels Of Dirt will share the experience of competitive motorcycle racing in a way that will transform how we think about sport and culture, the power of love and loss, and the risks and rewards of living a fearless life.
At the center of the story is 20-year-old flat track racer, Charlotte Kainz, and young women who race motorcycles. Charlotte began racing at age 5 and competed until September 25th of 2016 when she died after her involvement in a crash during the final race of her first full season as an AMA Pro Racer.
Angels Of Dirt explores the life of Charlotte and dozens of young women from local dirt tracks to national events where the possibility of becoming a professional racer is realized through the eyes of young girls watching their peers and their idols defy convention and expectation.

Director Wendy Schneider lives in Madison, WI and is the creative force behind a range of independent projects including the critically acclaimed, The Smart Studios Story; a Civil Rights audio retrospective, the award-winning CD compilation, “No Camouflage” protesting the Iraq War; audio soundscapes for children, and the ground breaking documentary, CUT: Teens and Self Injury, winner of the “Best Wisconsin Film” award at the Beloit International Film Festival. Her projects are dedicated to bringing creativity, a human element, and significance to stories and topics.
