FUEL TV Premieres Three New Series in its "Stacked Sunday" Lineup

Kelly Slater and Bam Margera Featured During “Insane Cinema”

Get ready for an all-new season of Stacked Sundays on FUEL TV.

Beginning October 1, 2006, FUEL TV’s new fall lineup includes the best in original action sports programming.  Premiering is FUEL TV’s new surf magazine show called FiNS, from Emmy Award-winning producer Ira Opper. In snowboarding, Sorsa Project debuts giving viewers an inside look at Finland’s Olympic snowboarder Heikki Sorsa.  Also in snowboarding comes Flipside, a seven-part series on the making of More, Absinthe Film’s newest snowboarding movie.

Kicking off the evenings at 8:00 PM Eastern/Pacific is Firsthand: Viewer’s Choice.  FUEL TV fans voted for their favorite episodes of the network’s signature athlete-profile series. Counting down each Sunday starting with freestyle-motocross sensation Nate Adams at No. 13 until reaching skateboarder Ryan Sheckler at No. 1, don’t miss the 11 other superstars in between like skateboarder Bam Margera, FMX champion Brian Deegan, surfer Rob Machado, and 2006 tour champ wakeboarder Danny Harf.  (Firsthand is also available for downloading on iTunes.)

At 8:30 PM ET/PT catch FiNS, a series that captures the progression of modern surfing. Produced by Emmy Award-winner and 25-year veteran in surf movies and TV, Ira Opper gets rare access into today’s top surfers like Kelly Slater, The Irons, The Hobgoods, Sofia Mulanovich, John John Florence, and the new breed of surfing legends.  Also profiled are artists Jack Johnson and Aaron Chang.

At 9:00 PM ET/PT Sorsa Project, a mini-series running from October 1 to November 5, takes an unfiltered look at life on the road with Finland’s Olympic snowboarding phenom Heikki Sorsa.  The series is narrated by snowboarding legend Jim Rippey.

Premiering in the 9:00 PM ET/PT spot on November 12, Flipside shows you what it takes to make an action-packed snowboarding film.  The series provides a behind-the-scenes look at the Absinthe Films crew during the filming of their 2006 release More.  Using the new “Hover-Track” Jet-Pack film system, Absinthe gets closer than ever to riders including Travis Rice, Marc Frank Montoya, and Nicolas Müller.

Stay tuned!  The evening continues with Insane Cinema (as if you need a good reason to stay on the couch).

At 9:30 PM ET/PT, the Insane Cinema portion of Stacked Sundays begins. This season’s collection includes documentaries on Kelly Slater's journey to winning his seventh surf world title and Nate Adams' return to motocross after his near career-ending crash. Dave Mirra, Bob Burnquist, Bam Margera, Ryan Guettler, Scotty Cranmer, and a talented list of others are also among some of the top-shelf athletes appearing in this lineup of films premiering exclusively on FUEL TV.
