Press Release

Race-Prepped 2016 Kawasaki KX450F and KX250F Dirt Bikes Presented to 1st and 2nd Place RMFantasySX Winners

PAYSON, UT (July 7th, 2016) – Joshua Gillies of Beaver, UT, and Brandon Meier of Fairport, NY, were this year’s 1st and 2nd place prize winners of RMFantasySX, the fantasy supercross game by Rocky Mountain ATV/MC. RMATV/MC brought both winners out to their headquarters in Payson, UT, to present them with their winning prizes – race-prepped 2016 Kawasaki KX450F and KX250F dirt bikes.

Finishing RMFantasySX just two points apart on the leader boards, Gillies and Meier finished the game with 888 points 886 points, respectively, placing ahead of nearly 60,000 other players during the 2016 season. Gillies, long-time rider and supercross fan, was playing the game for his third year when he won the motorcycle while Meier, who raced motocross competitively most of his life before joining the Marines, played RMFantasySX for the first time this year. Both players took advantage of the group play option in the game, competitively playing against friends and coworkers to make the game even more exciting.

The fantasy supercross game is easy to play, giving any player a chance at the top prizes. After predicting the top five riders for each round, along with a wildcard, players wait to see where the riders they chose place in the race. They earn points for each correct pick or placement they receive in the top five. So far in the history of RMFantasySX, no grand prize or top 10 winner has ever won a weekly prize, showing that a big scoring week isn’t always the answer to an overall win. Players getting even a few picks right consistently throughout the season have a chance at winning the top prizes at end of the game.

The prize-winning KX450F and KX250F dirt bikes were customized for each winner with industry upgrades including: suspension work by Precision Concepts, engine work by Matt Jory at Proven Moto, full exhaust systems from FMF, tires by Pirelli, handlebars and grips by ODI, custom graphics from Attack Graphics, custom anodized parts by Tusk and more. Gillies and Meier were both excited for the trip to RMATV/MC’s headquarters and were especially excited when their brand-new dirt bikes were unveiled during the presentation. “It’s everything I ever thought it would be,” said Gillies, and Meier echoed with, “I’m ecstatic, thrilled I’m even here in this situation, and I couldn’t be more happy.” Gillies was able to leave from the trip for the presentation with his bike in tow while RMATV/MC was able to ship Meier’s bike to a local dealership in Upstate New York for him to pick up and take home.

"Once again, the RMFantasySX game was great way for fans to follow their favorite riders and track their results during the Monster Energy Supercross season,” says Chris Brull, V.P. of Marketing, Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. “Kawasaki was excited to partner with Rocky Mountain ATV/MC by awarding this year's winners with a 2016 Kawasaki KX™450F and KX™250F. We look forward to continuing to be part of such a fun program and to next year's challenge."

“Kawasaki has always been great to work with and we were excited to be able to partner up with them for another year of RMFantasySX,” says Dan Thomas, CEO of Rocky Mountain ATV/MC. “It is the generosity of sponsors like Kawasaki that help us make RMFantasySX so exciting to play. The bikes went to some well-deserving winners at the end of another great season, and we are already looking forward to the 2017 supercross season.”
