Press Release

Seely and Baker Stay Consistent in Phoenix

AMA Supercross - Phoenix, AZ

Coming into round two with the points lead and the red plate, Cole Seely
and the TLD team were looking for another win in Arizona. But in a
class that is stacked with talent, sometimes you have to take what you
can get. While both riders were kept off the podium, they were both
consistent and earned solid points heading back to Los Angeles next
week.

Seely had a great heat race and finished second. His times were looking
good and he was ready to fight for it in the main event. Travis Baker
was looking to improve on his ride from the opener and he would qualify
sixth in his heat. Both riders felt confident and comfortable on the
Phoenix circuit leading up to the main event.

When the gate dropped for the 15-lap main event Travis Baker was near
the front. He rounded the turn inside the top five and was in good
position to have a breakthrough night. Seely got pinched off down the
start straight and would have to begin a charge to the front from around
tenth position. Seely was going forward in a hurry and just after he
passed his teammate for fifth, Baker pushed his front end over a berm
and went down. He would remount and match his result from late weekend
in tenth spot. Seely would make it to fourth near the end of the race
only to be passed by Eli Tomac in the closing laps. It would be fifth
for Seely and a solid number of points for the championship.

"Fifth definitely wasn't what I was hoping for," said Seely after the
race. "When you get a bad start with this many good riders in the class
you have to minimize the damage. I just tried to get as many points as
possible and fifth isn't that bad. I'll regroup with the team this week
and try to put it back on the box this weekend in LA."

Travis Baker's results don't show it but he had a better weekend.

"I feel like I made big improvements over last weekend," Baker says of
his Phoenix effort. "I was riding more like myself and I think it would
have been a good finish for me if I hadn't of tipped over. I'm really
pumped for this weekend at Dodger's Stadium. I feel like this is going
to be a good one for me."

The championship is the big picture for Cole Seely and the team this
year. Dodger's Stadium was the site of his first career win last year.
Can he repeat? Come find out as the TLD crew gets down to business this
