Camarillo, CA (July 25, 2016) –  Team BTO Sports-KTM-WPS headed to the infamous Washougal Raceway  for Round nine of the 2016 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship in Washougal, WA.  It was another solid weekend for Andrew Short, Benny Bloss and Justin Brayton .

Showing off the new 2017Fly Racing Lite Hydrogen gear set, Andrew Short felt confident as he launched out of the gate for moto 1 for a top five start. Short then put in solid laps, as his speed kept him in the thick of the battle as he broke away with the front pack. He wouldn’t back down for the full 30 min +2 lap moto and was rewarded with a season best 6th place finish. Short would again come back in moto 2 with another start near the front, allowing him  to make passes early in the race, crossing the finish line in 7th place. His 6-7 score earned Short his season best 6th overall for the day and 7th place in points.

“Washougal was good to me this year” Short said. “My starts are back and my speed was there this weekend. I am having fun out there and ready to keep this momentum going through the end of the season.”

Benny Bloss continues his impressive season, as he used every bit of power from hisFMF Racing exhaust system to  launch himself at the front of the field moto 1.  He rode with determination and strength to a 5th place finish, a career best moto finish. Moto 2 would test the youngster’s ability, as a first turn crash would have him sprinting up through the field and in to the top ten. Bloss would finish in 9th place at the checkered flag. His 5-9 score landed him 7th overall for the day and moves Bloss into 10th place in points.

“Another great weekend” Bloss said. “I felt solid out there, as this is my style of track. I am feeling confident and everything is coming together. The team is doing an awesome job and I will ready for Unadilla.”

Justin Brayton looked solid in Moto 1, as he would round the first turn inside the top ten. He would recover from a few mid- moto issues, charging to 13th at the line. Brayton would come back strong in moto 2, using the exceptional traction of the Pirelli MX tires to get a start in the front pack. He would ride solid, moving forward until a big get-off would end his day. He would walk away, but was unable to finish the moto. He still holds down 8th place in points.

Team BTO Sports takes a two week break before heading to Unadilla for round 10 of the 2016 Pro Motocross Championship series in New Berlin, NY.
