Im thinking of doing a plastic conversion kit on my 2003 yz 250. How did you change your airbox look? Was it a kit you purchased, if so could you share the link?

I said data can't replace a rider's feedback, it is used in addition to rider feedback. It is a tool so that (hopefully) the team can learn more about what the bike is doing when a rider gives certain feedback, if they can learn those trends it gives ... more »

They can use this shock position data and (through some math) can see shock velocities, accelerations, etc. The data can't replace a rider's feedback, but if they can find correlations between the data and the rider's comments they can make more informed ... more »

I hate when they don't make an offer, they just ask what my bottom dollar is. I dunno, what's the most you'll pay? The whole point of negotiating is for me to get more than my bottom dollar!

Yeah, a 2ft breaker bar with 20 lbs is 40 ft*lbs (2ft * 20lbs). I have no idea how they come up with the torque ratings for impacts, but it's not the same, just a bunch of marketing nonsense.

I think a good 6-point socket on an impact will help the most. For good measure I would let it soak with penetrating oil over night, and heat it up before hitting it with the impact.

That's badass! Last weekend I autocrossed with the Oregon Region PCA, they were a cool group! I won the non-Porsche FWD class with my Fiesta ST. I know one of these days I'll get sucked into the road courses.

The parallels between his experience and my girlfriend's are so close, it really hits close to home. He's in a tough spot, and I'm glad he's being honest and open about what he's going through. The doctors are harsh, the PT's goals don't match his, and ... more »

Added reply in a thread How does Roczen keep feet on pegs through corners? 7/7/2016 6:16 AM

I notice when I'm doing a lot of mountain biking and then go ride moto I keep my feet on the pegs a lot more. If I don't ride the mountain bike much, I start sticking my legs out more on the motorcycle. Roczen's balance while cornering is incredible. ... more »

That's what I would do, there's nothing wrong with making an assumption like this in order to clearly define the problem. Just state that the exact distance isn't readily available, so we will assume a distance of X units. Prof just wants to see your ... more »

It came with a certificate of calibration new, other than that I have not had it calibrated, but you certainly could if it matters to you.

I agree, injection molding is incredibly cost effective in mass production and would be tough to compete with given identical part geometry. But, keep in mind that there are geometries you can't accomplish with anything other than additive manufacturing ... more »

I also have the Precision Instruments C2FR100F (3/8" drive 20-100 ft.-lb.), it is a fantastic tool. The electronic ones are very nice, but for the DIY mechanic where it may spend months at a time without being used I wouldn't want something with batteries. ... more »

I've definitely been thinking about it since learning that Mirra had CTE. The interview with his wife gave some scary insights about the symptoms he showed. Some of the guys I'm really concerned about are Mat Hoffman and TP199. Sure, we've always known ... more »
