2017 NMA Off-Road Series Rd#3 EDDIEVILLE GP

I have seen videos of Eddieville and have wanted to ride this place for a long time, but never did up until round #3.  We loaded up the new to us motorhome and set course for Goldendale for rounds #3 and #4, another double header weekend.  We pulled in late after 11pm and folks were still arriving and signing up.  I quickly signed in and went to bed to get as much sleep as I could after the long trip.

I spent the better portion of the morning messing with the motorhome and installing new wheels and tires, front and rear, on the bike after destroying the old set at the Desert 100.  I was not only excited to race Eddieville but also that I didn't have the flu.  This was my shot at racing against my competitors at near 100% and I was anxious to see how I stacked up against them.  Conditions were dry and mild temperatures... perfect.

Now having two dead engine starts in my pocket I felt more comfortable with them.  I was able to grab 2nd off the start and quickly positioned myself in 1st.  I held 1st for a better part of the race and eventually got passed near the end.  Nothing eventful happened and I was able to stay off the ground and finished 2nd.  I was happy with that and really had nothing to battle for 1st.  I did however notice my rear end acting loose throughout the race which ended up being my chain tensioner loosening.

Overall I really enjoyed round #3, specially with the MX as part of the track.  There is something to be said about sending it on jumps that you've never hit before.  It's quite the adrenaline rush.  This venue's pits had a restricted speed of 5mph, which I enjoyed.  That gave me a couple seconds to catch a few deep breaths and get some water in me easily.  I got the bike washed up and off we headed to Starvation Ridge for round #4.
