Michael Akaydin 1st Race Report

What's up everyone?!

I didn't get a chance to send an update or report after Anaheim1 two weeks ago. So you are getting double this week with Anaheim1 SX and Phoenix SX.

Coming into the 2014 season I made some changes to my program and knew that I needed to be working hard to reach my goals of making mains this year in the 450 class.

At Anaheim1, I had a rough qualifying practice where I was either on the ground or in the tough blocks more than I was going fast but squeaked into the night show at 40th. Being the first race, I wasn't riding like I should have and was tight all night finishing 17th, 14th and 14th in the heat, semi and LCQ respectively.

Coming into Phoenix, I knew I needed to step it up a lot. In qualifying I ended up 35th. I got better starts throughout the night and rode better than the previous weekend but my finishes still mimicked Anaheim1 with 17th, 13th and 14th in the heat, semi and LCQ respectively.

All in all, I'm raising my confidence and getting plenty of practice in during the week and am working hard to reach my goals. I'm looking forward to this weekend going back to Anaheim!
