Just an FYI, most mini splits provide 100% of their rated heating capacity down to 47F outdoor temp. After that they take a pretty big derate. At 0F you’d probably be getting around 50% of the rated capacity. There are exceptions. Mitsubishi H2I models ... more »

Might want to take a look at some of those transmission gears. They had many gears updated on 2018+ models after they realized they put too many holes in them trying to save weight.

The filter was caked with dirt and pulled off the cage. Same failure that happened to a few KTMs last year. Obviously they had the experience/ resources to fix it....

KTM bolts are not plated but instead are coated with dacromet or some equivalent. Its common in automotive applications. I never had a problem with the actual bolts themselves, but the coating does come off quickly. Especially on bolt heads that are ... more »
