Josh at XPR is a good guy with a great reputation on motor builds. Though you are not buying the part directly through him.

Did you call him? Terry doesn’t use email.

Added reply in a thread Varner motorsports 2/21/2018 1:56 PM

What are you building? I have used Terry for our last 4 mod builds. You will not loose because of the motor! I had purchased a 16 KTM with an EBR national motor and it was fast but my son never came to terms with the suspension. The bike had 10 total ... more »

What about the crank?

Added reply in a thread KTM 125 or 150? 2/19/2018 7:49 AM

If you read the tests most riders preferred to race the 125 because it has a more forgiving powerband. The 150 lacks bottom and hits hard in the midrange and revs to the moon. It is fast but harder to ride. We owned a 125 and my sons friend had the 150 ... more »

True. I had a couple KTM 65s I that dumped about $7500 into for each bike. I sold them for $3200 each with less than 25hrs. That’s not typical but you are lucky to get 1/2 of what you pay on a 4-stroke. The net is full of 1-2 year old 4-strokes for $4k. ... more »

How long ago were you a dealer? I have spoke with a couple guys racing these and they do not have trouble with parts since Ralph too over.

The 2018 KTM dyno was 37.83, TM 38.20 and YZ 33.83. The TM lacks some bottom end compared to other 125s but comes on stronger in the mid and top. I rode a 16 TM and the power was very good. In stock form it was good if not better power than our EBR modded ... more »

My son just doesn’t like the KTM.

Our YZ has good bottom but after the Mods it had great power everywhere. Though retail on that package is $1800.

Where in Georgia? I will down that way for SX.

We just sold a fully modded 17 YZ 125 because he’s going to be off the bike for a while after his injury. I thought we would transition to a 250f but with the new rules going to 17 we may go back to 125s.

Thanks! No major injuries in the last 10 years of racing but if your in the sport long enough it’s bound to happen. He was on a 125 and riding it really well. My son is 15 but with the rule changes you can stay on a 125 in the schoolboy 1 and 125 b/c ... more »

Clean bike!

It’s for my son and he currently weighs about 115. He crashed in Florida over the holiday break and broke his jaw and knocked 4 teeth out. They saved 3 but he will need a bone graft and implant in the future. So knowing we would be out for a while I ... more »

Yeah my kid got s bad taste after the atrocious 4cs forks on the KTM. He loved the YZ handling and the power was great after Varner modded it. Honestly I think the 16 TM I rode was faster than our KTM or YZ. The 18 TM is supposed to be even faster. Though ... more »

125s are supposed to be ridden on top but I was hoping a stab of the clutch and it would bring it to life? A fast bike is great but it still needs to be rideable. I was told there are some vhm Head options and pipes that help the low end.

Added reply in a thread TM Bikes - Opinions? 2/15/2018 6:58 PM

What issue did the test? From what I have read the bike lacks bottom but is a rocket in the mid thru top.
