Added reply in a thread A quick little lesson on the use of the word "Seen" 9/25/2013 3:40 PM

I scene this quote somewheres and it gave me a laugh: Grammar: The difference between knowing your shit and knowing you're shit.

I'm with you... I like quad 50's, but they just don't belong on a track when you're riding. QUAD 50:

The weather report looks bitchin'! My YZ125 is ready to rock. I'm like a kid the night before christmas waiting for this deal to go down. Only one problem: My friend with the big tits bailed on me, so I need to find a "mechanic" soon.

I hadn't been since 2001 at Straddleline. There's a lot of downtime between motos, I would enter at least two classes minimum. If I race next year, I'll iron-man it in 3 or 4 classes.

Started new thread A few Top-Gun photos 9/4/2013 11:26 AM

Photos from the Top Gun race at Washougal last weekend. Hill won most of the pro motos, but Weeck and Huffman didn't make it easy on him.

They are decent quality and come in white as well. Clarke's tank looks good, but there's one minor issue. It is designed for the steel frame and rubs a bit where the sides of the frame come up and curve inward toward the top of the shock. It's nothing

Added reply in a thread Got Wood? Wilburs 125 will give you... 8/22/2013 4:30 PM

I'm not seeing the photo in the original post, but this looks like a 250 pipe/engine. Clearly this is LaRocco's bike with the #5. Is this some kind of sick joke?

Thread title says 125? That looks like a 250 to me... Sick bike.

So I'll be the first to offer my services: Any would-be mini-dads out there, don't risk betting on your inferior, weaker blonde or brunette genes. Pull down a 2nd (or 3rd?) mortgage on your house and use the funds to hire me to come over and bang your ... more »

Added reply in a thread why doesnt vitalMX have a track guide...? 8/14/2013 11:19 AM

Often wondered this myself. It would be nice to have a database of tracks with all their information. Done right, you can give interested tracks the tools to log-in and adjust their hours, contact info, etc. Search and sort tracks by location, schedule, ... more »

Added reply in a thread 2 stroke at MEC 8/13/2013 8:04 AM

The 300 is as ideal as a "modern" two stroke gets in my opinion.

I had to stop right there. Saturday I raced my YZ with a 295cc big bore. I also raced my stock 125cc. My fastest lap time of the day was 3 seconds better and on the 125. Some tracks favor the bike that can keep a higher speed in the corners and fatigue ... more »

Added reply in a thread YZ125 or CR125? 8/5/2013 11:37 AM

The YZ engine and 6 speed trans is far better. It has a good midrange bark and screams up top. With a 50 tooth sprocket, pipe, reed and jetting It will run with anything if you've got the skills. Also, the stock YZ suspension is a bit better. The downside ... more »

Added reply in a thread Got a new 450! 8/1/2013 6:57 AM

Friend of mine has a '13 Kawi. He switched the triple clamp to one with a few mm less offset and installed a Rekluse clutch. On the track it's a bit better with the reduced feel of engine braking and the subtle change of the triple clamp helps it corner. ... more »

That's why I haven't and won't try racing with the music. It's fine during practice if you are visually aware of who's near you on the track.

Added reply in a thread Tomac ear plugs 7/31/2013 7:38 AM

I think I'll install a lighting coil and a big amp with some loud speakers. Picture me sitting on on the gate with a 125 surrounded by 450s while "Chariots of Fire" is blasting on my speakers at 200 db.

Added reply in a thread Tomac ear plugs 7/30/2013 3:20 PM

I plan to try some earplugs at the races this weekend... Never worn any in a race before, only practice.

Added reply in a thread Tomac ear plugs 7/30/2013 1:53 PM

I find the same thing with the engine sound. When I can't hear the bike at all, I just wring it out and use the clutch instead of the throttle. My lap times on Sunday were 2 seconds faster on a 2 minute lap with a set of earbuds that seal in my ear playing ... more »
