Meet Makita Suzuki's Ryan Dungey

Ryan Dungey.

It's always interesting to watch the progression of new factory riders as they move from the amateur classes, up into the MX Nationals, and then on into Supercross. Makita Suzuki's Ryan Dungey isn't one of those guys who has been secretly riding Supercross for years, waiting for this chance, so has been working through a  step-by-step program to get ready for the '07 season. We watched him in Fresno at the first round of the BooKoo Arenacross series, where he scored a second on the first night (after working his way up from just inside the top ten), and then took a win on the next night. Then he got his first taste of real Supercross action in Vancouver, where he finished second behind Ryan Sipes.

Now with the calendar ticking away the days to the start of the '07 Supercross season, he's busily working away under the watchful eye of the Makita Suzuki staff, as well as his trainer, Derin Stockton. Since he's racing the East coast Lites series this year, he also gets the chance to watch a handful of rounds on the west before getting started for real in Atlanta.

In the meantime, here's your chance to check him out as he gets ready for '07.
