Results and Photos – Jeremy McGrath Invitational Friday Night

UPDATE! You can check out a large gallery of photos from Friday night's action by clicking here.

Maybe it was the full moon that was hanging over the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA, because there certainly were a few odd events on the first night of the Jeremy McGrath Invitational.

Michael Sleeter started things off in practice on Friday afternoon when he augered in a rhythm section, which left him with a broke humerus, and at least one (and possibly two) broken collarbones.

Then there was a tangle in the heat race between Eric Sorby and Ryan Clark that left Ryan with a badly cut hand, but plenty of energy to march across the infield to give Eric a piece of his mind.

And finally, there was MC himself, who ejected in mid-air through a rhythm section, leaving him with a tweaked neck, as well as a broken big toe.

Oh yeah, there was plenty of racing, too, including head-to-head contests, and a more normal format main event. Kevin Windham topped both the dual event, as well as the final, and is halfway to a very large payday out of the $500,000 purse. K-Dub's main competition came from Josh Grant, who was aboard his usual Honda CR250F, against Kevin's 450.

The Xyience/MDK squad was also quick, with Nick Wey grabbing third spot after a mid-pack start. His new teammate, David Vuillemin, finished fourth, and looked much more akin to the Cobra that we're accustomed to seeing.
