Vital MX Pit Bits: San Francisco

Click the following link for the latest news, along with an 18-photo gallery covering Saturday's pre-race action in the pits from the San Francisco Supercross.

After some heavy rain here in San Francisco over the last few days (think build-an-ark type weather) we're on a modified practice schedule like at A1 for the fourth round of the Monster Energy Supercross championship. The Live Nation staff was working in shifts throughout the night last night to pump water from the track (and into the dugouts here at AT&T Park.

Right now the start area is partially underwater, and the Dirt Wurx crew will be working their magic on that before practice. If you’ve seen the track map for this race, you’ve seen the alternate section where riders could take a wide sweeper or hit a whoop section. They may sacrifice that outer sweeper to help clean up the start area, which is seriously muddy.

The plastic is being pulled from the track at 3:30, and a secondary rider's meeting will be held then as well.

Currently the weather here in San Francisco is cloudy but dry, but there is the potential for more rain this afternoon and evening, and the night program may be changed accordingly.

Be sure to check back tonight for full coverage (or is that uncoverage?) of the action from San Francisco.
