I bought this low hour, all original '01 YZ250 from a friend who's dad out about 15 easy hours on it. The bike had original chain and sprockets and tires on it. He had converted it into a desert bike but still kept all of the original parts.

My goal was to return it to all stock and clean it as well as possible. The bike had such low hours that it still had the factory grease in all of the bearings. I freshened up the engine with all OEM parts and replaced what little it needed. I added an RG3 top clamp as it's rubber mounted and allows for oversized bars. Below is the finished bike. It was a fun project and blast from the past! I'm glad I saved her from going to the Black Plastic Crew where she would surely have been flogged haha.

Thanks guys! My goal was to bring it back to as new as practically possible. The bearings all still had the factory grease in them and were perfect! It was a lot of fun to clean here up. I didn't want to over-restore it and I wanted to keep it as original as possible. I have some rock-hard 739's that came off her! haha

It's a good bike. I rode it last weekend and I was surprised how good it was. My main bike is a '19 350sx-f and I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to ride. Sure, more effort than a four stroke but the motor was very broad and it surprised me. The lack of engine braking caught me off guard the first few turns as I over-cooked them. Haha.
