I'm building a 1980 yz250 and I have a few questions I need help with. Is there a modern triple clamp that would work? Wassup with the kehin flat slide carbs I keep hearing about any help would be appreciated

No modern triple clamps will work without some work, maybe machining. Then you would be dealing with a disc brake set up. It would be easier to mount up an 81 front end with 43mm forks. If you tried to sell such a Frankenbike the first question a potential buyer would have is "what happened to the original front end?" What is the point of this? It would ruin the character of the bike and dump the value. Why not just go for a 89 or newer bike with USD forks.
If you can find a flat side with the same dimensions I'm sure it would be nice improvement. These mods you are talking of would probably not fit into AHRMAs rulebook.
