I finally found a steel frame cr125 for a decent price so I jumped on it. It's a 1993, doesn't run, has no compression but my plan is to big bore it anyway. The bike as a whole is pretty solid. So far my plans for it are a crf front end since I've had a rolling chassis crf250 sitting around for a while. Motor will most likely get bored out.

I finally got a chance to tear it down yesterday. The bike came apart great, bearings are obviously shot but no stuck bolts besides one of the shroud bolts is stuck in the insert in the tank. I'm planning on riding this bike pretty regularly so I'm not going crazy like some other builds on here, i think the tank and airbox will clean up fine for what im doing with it. Unfortunately the reason the motor had no compression is that something came apart and did some damage to the cylinder and head. It looks like they tried to throw a new piston in and just sand down a huge dent in the cylinder. Hopefully the cylinder is able to be salvaged for a reasonable price or i might just buy a new oem '99 cylinder and run it as a 125 for a while. I'll probably be pulling the bottom end apart this weekend, im just hoping the transmission is okay since most of the gears are unavailable anymore.
