I'm looking for a used crf250 or 450 shock from 2010 to 16. I don't care how bad of condition it is in as I'm using it for measurements. I want to place those newer CRF shocks in an 1989 cr250 and need one for measurements. If anyone has one to sell Id be interested in it depending on the price.

I have a spare for my 11 CRF450R but want to keep it.
I'd be glad to measure anything that you need though.

Thanks but I have measurements from someone on eBay, these CRF shocks are different in length compared to my 89. I'm looking to physically have a shock in my hands because I'm going to have to change out the clevis and shaft with either the ones off of my 89 or some other year to make it fit in my frame.

No I'm only interested in those newer style CRF shocks at the moment, I'm trying to do a suspension conversion with newer CRF suspension.

What would you want for the forks?

RockyRider: I don't think the 09 had the updated look with the midget sized nitrogen reservoir, but if it did would you post a picture of it.

Mxb2: getting an a-kit is my plan with this retrofit but I need a used stock one for testing and measuring as I'm going to tear it apart to change out the clevis and shaft off of a different year to make it fit.

If anyone just has an extra shock body with the updated look laying around, Id also be interested in it. eBay is difficult trying to find one because everyone is selling them for $200-$300 which is a little to much for something I just need for measuring. I don't really care if anyone has a blown out or broken shock, all I really need is the shock body.

Thanks
Jeremy

ill save you some time.

shocks are the same from 09-12 crf450 and 10-13 crf250f the 14-17 crf250f and 13-16 crf450 were also the same and 14mm shorter then the 09-12 crf450 and 10-13 crf250f shocks.

the 09-12 crf450 and 10-13 crf250f were the same measurements as the fat long shongs found on earlier crf's and cr's and is used in the conversions on the CR's.

you may be able to use the 14-17 crf250f and 13-16 crf450 shocks as well it is however shorter.

Is that 14mm shorter made up in the clevis, shock shaft, body, or a combination of the 3? I have a 2015 shock but noticed it was shorter after I purchased some time back. If the easy fix is to grab a shock shaft from a 2009-2012, I may keep it and put it to use.

When I get off of work I will measure the total length of my 89 shock and I will also measure the shock body, from what I know the early 2000's CR shock bodies are about an inch longer than my 89 and there should be a newer CRF whith some what of the same shock body length. a measurement I received from someone on eBay, the shock body on a 13 CRF is longer than the 89 so it will not work and I'm still waiting on measurements from some shocks on 2014-16. I definitely know the Newer style CRF shock bodies will fit without modification to the subframe, I just need to find a shock body with somewhat of the same length then I can use the original 89 clevis and shaft.

Those ohlins shocks are nice but I'm looking for a used stock shock or shock body by itself because of all the modifications needed for those CRF shocks to fit the 89 cr250. I don't want to buy an expensive shock just for the shock body as that's all I need, with all the information I gathered I can't use the CRF clevis or shaft, I need to either use the stock 89 clevis and shaft or have a custom clevis and shaft made. But thanks for the offer.

I will be selling the complete suspension off of my 16 Crf250r, I just haven't gotten around to posting it yet. I don't mind separating the shock. It's a brand new stock take off shock , forks are 4 hr tac's with coated uppers.
