The opening round of the 2020 world championship. Weather looks like it's going to be a cold one. About the rain, it seems at this moment it won't be too bad. On Wednesday it looks to be quite sunny, so that's only good for the track. Additional classes are EMX125 and WMX.

Timetable: http://docs.mxgp.com/tvinfo/2020_MXGP_of_Great_Britain_Timetable.pdf

Here the fully updated entry lists. Prado seems to line up, Tixier aswell as a privateer. Ander Valentín took over the wildcard from Tommy Searle, who decided to skip the event due to a small injury sustained a couple of weeks ago. Brent Van Doninck will also start as a wildcard. Julien Lieber had a small operation on his wrist and will sit out the first three GP's.

In MX2 Glen Meier replaces Jere Haavisto at JK Racing Yamaha, who still has a small problem with a back injury, but normally will line up at the second round in Valkenswaard.

That's a full entry across all 4 classes. WMX looks strong, EMX has only 5 or 6 guys I know will be fast , the rest could be all over the place, no idea who will or wont make the cut.

Steve Dixon posted a video from earlier , sunny skies , no rain , track still looks sealed, so should stand up well.

3 US women in WMX, 1 US rider in EMX125 and 1 in MX2 and zero in MXGP... I hope some day we get that fixed. I'm fine rooting for TG, but I'd dig it if there was a US rider in there to root for.

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t Thomas Covington from USA & he’s racing MXGP?

He’s moved up to EMX250.
Really? I didn't expect that , as he's a small kid , unless he did some major growing over the past 6 months? Big fan of that kid btw.

Brent Van Doninck will also line up in MXGP-class on the ASA United Husqvarna as a wildcard. As of now it's unclear who he replaces (my guess would be Prado).

Think he will be replacing Searle. He’s pulled out to focus on British Championship. Prado will be there racing I believe

Spaniard Ander Valentín took Searle's place according to my info. Maybe some other rider has pulled out.

I dunno man, I think they're quite well represented. Although it seems little in the main classes.

MXGP: Simpson, Sterry and Millward
MX2: Watson, Mewse, Gilbert, Hammal and Grimshaw
EMX125: Rizzi, Wade, McKenzie-Lane, Bruce, Grayshon, Cashmore, Randall, Morris, Jones, Atkinson, Palmer, Williams, Guthrie, Hull and Kessell (is Jude Morris by any chance the son of former GP-rider Justin?)
WMX: Truman, King, Booth and Jones

Regarding Jude Morris, no he's not. I race with him in the 125cc British Masters series - he's spent a lot of time training in Spain this winter with RMJ Academy.

It must be pretty bloody soon for the launch of the 'new' KT...Gas Gas Team and their 'unique' bikes, one would think Woohoo

Perfect timing for the 29th of February!

You never know, they might just make we people that just expect a Red KTM, look like Drongos, and have a very different couple of bikes under the awning .

They've been saying for a while now that the GasGas will be unveiled on the Friday before Matterley (28th). Photoshoots were done last week. Although they're basically a red KTM, i'm still looking forward to seeing them in the flesh this weekend!

Was more aimed ot MX1 .. No Nichols or Searle, and Anstie gone to US. Only Simpson and Sterry as regulars now

Mx2 wise, have no idea what to expect from Conrad, Watson has had a small injury and the rest will be finding thier feet.

Fair point, Rob.

How much is it to enter a GP now? - I've lost track.

It would be interesting to see an adjusted / real money comparison for the entry fees from back in your GP era, and, now.

By the way - got your book on Monday just as I was going off to Hospital for one of 3 procedures I'm up for, this week. I'm going for the record on being put under, it seems. It looks great - but I've held off on starting the 'proper' read until tomorrow, when I come out of the next anesthetic......

It's a good size you chose - dirty great big 'coffee table' sized books are a bit hard to grapple with, and don't fit in my 'hospital visit' back pack at all well.

Bravo on what I've seen so far! Cool It's been bloody hard to not just get stuck into reading it, straight off!

He did a good interview with mxvice as well if you fancy something to listen to. You can find it on Spotify.

Who knew a trip to the supermarket could be so dangerous eh

Unless it's a really recent one, I must have missed it.

I'll try to find it.

I go to ViceMX pretty much every day. I really like their GP podcasts - the boys Brit Bickering is entertaining enough in and of itself!

Spotify? Mate, I'm flat out barely dealng with technology in my (just) being able to turn on my phone, or computers........ Like Paddington, " I'm a Bear of Very Small Brain".
