... Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart battled for the final time, and it did not disappoint.

Side notes: The helicopter provides nice coverage and they've changed the track to drop the lap times 40 seconds.

That is amazing. No matter how fast they go, I don't know if we will ever see anyone with as much grit as RC.

Still groaned in disgust outloud when Stewart stuck his front end. Damn they were hauling. Miss those years!

Was really impressed with ET3 and BB4 until I watched that. Intensity was on another level with them two.

Probably never see anything near that level again in my lifetime. Sadly, an era gone that seems only like a year or two ago.......

I'm not sure we will ever again see battles like those two had. RV/RD and KR/ET are the closest to it that we have gotten since.

What if he never slowed down, everybody else just got quicker over the years.

I've watched this many times. One of my favourite motos ever. Camera angles etc. are on point to show the speed as well.

I was there and those guys were pushing so hard both motos the whole time. One of the best races I have ever seen for sure.

I was there. RC was inching closer and closer all moto and when James endoed in that corner the whole infield went nuts. RC was clearly the crowd favorite. It was a great race for sure.

Was never the same after Red Bud 08. Had some wins in 2009, but was well off of RV till he got hurt. 2010 was the failed 350 year and then in 2011 he had that big crash in the MX opener.

He was great on his Suzuki. He even got a sx podium. The move back to KTM and the 350 is where it fell apart

We won't see battles like JS/RC and JS/CR for a long time. Miss those days for sure
When did JS battle with Reed? As I remember Stewart would blow by him and Chad would aim at his front wheel 2-3 turns later. He would either take him out, or be gapped instantly

Yeah. That was never a real rivalry. In 2009 james spotted chad a race, went on a winning streak, spotted chad more points, went on another winning streak and still won the title despite all the talk about how awesome the Suzuki was

MX, the only battle I can think of was Millville 02. SX though they battled a ton.
