Deep, deep sand. Three GP's within a week, the track will show who's fitness is on point. It will be a slaughter! It seems it will stay dry most of the days, with temperatures around 13°C.

Additional classes: EMX125 (round 13, 14 & 15), EMX250 (round 13 & 14).

It will be the week of truth for Jago Geerts. This track offers him the chance to decrease Vialle's lead of 52 points. But to be fair, if Vialle doesn't make any big mistakes, the title is his.

In MXGP I expect big things from Prado. He practically grew up in and around Lommel, so I see him win at least one GP. A lot of contenders for the win, though. Cairoli, Gajser, Coldenhoff, Febvre,...

Also, Lommel will host the finals of both EMX125 and EMX250-championships, with EMX250 racing only the first two rounds. Here it's a showdown between Benistant and Guadagnini, with a difference of 18 points.

Difficult to say who will take it. Benistant races with a Dutch team, so he trained in the sand a lot the past couple of months. Guadagnini has the momentum with 6 race wins and 3 overall wins in a row, and he has some experience as a wildcard in MX2 this and the previous season. So my guess is Guadagnini will take the championship.

In EMX125 Bonacorsi holds the red plate on his Fantic, with a gap of 42 points on Meico Vettik and 53 points on David Braceras. As Vettik is the better sandracer and with experience in EMX250, I see him closing the gap.

Excited for the races, unfortunately spectators are not allowed.

I think we're going to see a big variation in the results. Lommel is no joke! Glenn is really fired up for it and I think he can win one of them at least.

It'll be interesting to see how Vialle plays it. I can't see him pushing too hard for wins but there's a lot of 'hungry' riders with nothing to lose in MX2 that could get in between him and Geerts.

Big week for allot of guys...

Geerts.. can he keep it on 2 wheels and close the gap? Normally he should be able to win all 6 moto’s there, but the history of crashing and taking bad starts the last few races got me wondering. Will be tough, especially Vialle always gets a great start.

Cairoli.. Normally he is the better sand rider compare to Gasjer, it’s time for him to take points back on Gasjer if he wants that 10th title.. it’s now or never..

Don't know about that. Vialle is great in the sand aswell (race and GP-wins in Valkenswaard, Latvia, Mantova,...) and is coached by Joël Smets.

Riders who can get between him and Geerts (assuming that Geerts wins all 6 races) on a regular basis are probably TKO and Van de Moosdijk. Occasionally maybe Renaux, Watson and Beaton. That's about it. I wouldn't be surprised that if Geerts goes 1-1-1-1-1-1 (and that's a big "if"), that Vialle easily can go 2-2-2-2-2-2.

I just wanted a close finish to the championship, that was all 😊

Lommel is in my eyes the track where the most riders can get in between Geerts and Vialle.

TKO RVDM Watson are all great sand riders what “could” finish every moto in between them if everything works out perfectly.

There is allot of pressure on Geerts and he showed lately that he can’t handle it. He is able for 6x1 but it’s a big ask.

Emx125 I see some good rides coming from the GasGas kids. Have seen them in person a few times and they are really impressive. Farres had some bad lucks past few weeks but I think he has everyone covered speed wise (maybe Braceras excluded). Congost, the 3rd guy on the team is a little slower but steady.

EMX250 will be a tough one for Benistant. Underdog for race wins is Talviku for me. Remember that he was riding EMX125 last year as well. Maybe Guyon can win a race too.

MX2 I think Geerts has the upper hand speed wise, but he has to stay calm ánd keep his bike running (which didn’t happen last year). Vialle will be solid. Underdog for a win is vd Moosdijk for me.

Mxgp.. well i think Prado will win here. Maybe the others can run him down later in the moto, but speed wise, flow and starts Prado is hard to beat. Hopefully Coldenhoff will win a GP here too. Another rider always performing well here is Van Horebeek. I think he can podium with some luck. Let’s goo!

For the Wildcards.. is Brent van Doninck riding in the MXGP? He is been riding really well on the 450 this year, i think he can be in for a suprise in Lommel.

The EMX classes will be intresting. There will definitely be some sand specialists mixing it up and getting in between the top guys in both 125 and 250.

Bonacorsi wasn’t that impressive at Mantova so we’ll see if it was just a bad day or not, but Vettik will be loving the conditions so it could get intresting if Bonacorsi struggles.

As for 250, like people have pointed out Benistant has probably got a lot of laps in the sand with his Dutch team, but Guadagnini has not been fazed by soft sand before and he has all the momentum right now.

Like a mini-GP at Grevenbroich today... Cairoli, Prado, Vialle, Coldenhoff, Monticelli, Gajser, Bogers, TKO, Beaton, Gifting, Sandner, Pancar and someone on a Kawi who I didn't recognise

People may remember it as the track that Team USA rode before Lommel MXON

Fun fact: Heikki Geens, #311 on the entry list of MXGP-class, was a contender on the Flemish-Dutch version of Temptation Island in 2019.

He sometimes races an international or national race in Belgium or The Netherlands. He's actually not that slow to be honest. Not that he's going to score any points, though.

About the guy on the Kawasaki: I've noticed Wilson Todd from DRT Kawasaki was putting in some laps there about a week ago. Maybe it was him.

We are here and the best thing so far is that the Covid test wasn’t ”cotton swab in your brain”-type of thing it has been so far this season, but just sweeping the nasals and mouth. The track seems to be planned to be run both ways, but not sure. Also it is surprisingly cold even for us coming from Finland.

Remember him almost getting pole in Finland, pipped by Philip Benggtson..

Be interesting to see where that leads. Does he get a full time GP deal as well alongside JVH, replacing Guillod, or does he replace JVH in the Sables series, so he gets a winter break.

I remember hearing JVH talking to with some friends, saying he had been riding summer /winter for 3 years or so and was ready for a break, not the start of another GP season, not in a bad way , just that it was tough. The Covid break might be enough to keep him keen a bit longer.

Allot of races has been canceled in the Sables series, there won’t be even a race this year, next on the calendar will be somewhere January 21.

Crazy times for that series also because off the COVID.

Nathan Watson will race the third round at Lommel with his beachcross-team, Honda SR Motoblouz.
If you only can or want to do a single one, the last would be the best. Best change the most riders are tired or sore or just over the rough track Grinning .

Any news about Van Berkel if he will do one?
He also joined that team for the beach races, but he can also put that bike in points..

Van Berkel is one of the most underrated rider we have in The Netherlands. Scoring points in almost every sand GP he enters and won a EMX250 few years ago once he had a bike that was fast enough
