What are you guys running?
I am aware that the ‘16s came with 13/50 (3.846) which I guess was adequate but according to MXA, KTM dropped that in favor of a 14/51(3.642) combo for the '17 + '18s because they believed the potent engine could pull the much tall gearing. They recommend either a 13/51 (3.923) or a 14/53 (3.785). I only have a handful of rides on my ’18, but it did seem like I was in 2nd gear in many sections of the track where I’d normally be in 3rd on my CRF. Luckily gearing changes are relatively painless and inexpensive but I was hoping to get some feedback from the Vital brain trust with experiences here. Any guidance/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I am of Vet intermediate speed and ride strictly MX on mainly loose to intermediate soil.
