Those look like the original forks. I'm pretty sure the new fork guards mount right up
You are correct. Just newer fork guards
What year are the fork guards you put on? I'm looking to update mine.

There was a guy on here they did one where he stripped off all the paint went to bare metal and put up some sort of clearcoat on it or something like that? It looked bad ass

Yes those are flo green side plates. Good luck trying to find them (and if you do, let me know! lol) I found these, a period correct front number plate and front fender at a vintage mx swap meet. Still looking for shrouds and rear fender

Did some clean up on the motor in prep for installing it into the frame once it's done
Before:

After (a TON of elbow grease):

Also added a Moto Tassinari VForce reed valve system

No I don't mind.... just really alot of elbow grease! There is no special product or way to make it like this. It honestly took me a complete day. Scotch brite, soap, hot water, steel wool, and then some polish. It's not perfect, but good enough for my purpose

Hey man, I'm also building an 05 KX250. I want to do the same thing with my hubs as you did. Just take the stockers and get them done just like yours. But i have a couple questions, What do you mean when you say they are "turned down"? is that how you get the flat look with the anodizing? Im just trying to better understand this whole thing. Thanks for any help man

The "turned down" refers to having the casting marks removed for a smooth look in a lathe of you can do it by hand with a die grinder, and file. Not as easy, and then you must bead blast them for a consistent even look.
TCR Wheel will do it for about $250

What he said.. Once they are "turned down" (removing ridges and smoothed out) TCR then anodizes them into the mag color. They are the ones to get it done for you as the anodizing it tricky as the hubs are cast aluminum not billet. This can cause blotchy coloring if not done correctly. TCR has it down to a science! http://tcrwheellacing.com/

I'll have to keep FTO in mind, they did a great job on the cover's, which will look really good with the (insert color here)Whistling frame.
