Does anyone have feedback on these bikes? I'm thinking about driving to look at a used one. How does it compare to a used YZ125 reliability wise?

Thanks

I had a 2010 SX150, and now run a 2018 150XC-W as well. On average I change the piston every 60hrs roughly and have had zero major issues. Common item that annoys most is the counter shaft seal leaking however it is an easy fix.

I've also had a 2005 YZ125 and a 2006 YZ144, I'd put the KTMs on par or even a slight step ahead of my YZ's for reliability.

Thanks for the reply. Is parts availability at the dealerships any issue with ~10 year old KTMs?

That is a killer bike. It has the sought after WP Closed Chamber forks. Parts are easy to get and reliability is great. A friend who is 200+lbs has been racing one in enduros and has regularly put 80 hours on a piston.

I had one with a 200 Crank and top end in it. It was very reliable. I'm 190lb and I raced it off road in the open expert class.
The thing was a blast in the sands of Cycle Ranch and feels a lot lighter than my '16 250xc.

Really great bike for all round!
Reliability wise is quite good, even more if you do your maintenance right...
Fun level is really high as well!

I used to live a couple hours from a KTM dealer, so I got used to ordering just about everything from motosport, prices are good and they stock a lot of OEM parts.

I'm now live a lot closer to some dealers and they stock the main items, chains, sprockets, and such, haven't ever had a big problem with part availability.

Overall I hate being down for repair so I usually stock a top end and gasket kit and more at all times, but have never had to use it for anything other than preventative maintenance on my KTMs.

Excellent replies, I appreciate all of the input. Anything to look out for?

I've never bought a used bike, only a new one back in 2007 and haven't ridden much since.
