Not much news or reviews about that bike but I hear they are at the dealers. Have one?

Saw a friend of some friends just picked one up and after riding it one time he decided to sell all of his mountain bike stuff lol. Must be pretty damn good. Hoping to hear more soon though because I really want one!

This bugged me..

"Up top, the engine falls flat and stops producing usable power a bit sooner than last year’s KX450F did. It is worth noting that we rode the bike with the black (smooth) ignition coupler installed, which is designated for use on hard-packed tracks."

Well no shit it felt flat, black coupler is like 25% less power "made up that number, but that's what it feels like" from the white "aggressive" coupler.

The 2016 450 sxf shed 10.7 pounds from 2015 Smile Shit it seems like the same weight as a 250f now. 224 lbs dry weight, with electric start... lol

And that is with spring forks, the EU KTMs are crazy light with the air forks!

Yes, i already knew that. I just thought it was impressive for a Japanese brand to finally start shaving a good amount of weight (The kawi has always been on the heavier side).

looking forward to seeing how it will stack against the ktm Wink

apparently the '16 kx went from the 2nd widest to the narrowest bike. if you are not a peick-like rider than that should be great.

I got the new Kawi 450 at about 230lbs with no gas. 5-6lbs heavier than the pumpkin.

My dad wanted to sell his 2015.5 FE and I told him he can let it sit for 5 years and it will still be better than some of the Jap offerings.

The reasons have been listed ad nauseam. But yeah. Glad Kawi is getting in the ball park I guess.

The 2015 ktm and kawis both weighed the same according to the mags, so if the ktm lost 10 lbs and the kawi lost 7 we can all ball park a 3lbs heavier for the kawis lol

Southeast sales in Milwaukee just posted they have a 2016

It's Metamucil orange flavor, bro. I have pooping issues that makes me bloated, like the Jap bikes.

No clutch or button either and a year later coming out...

Not wanting to argue as I think KTM makes a great bike, but the orange brigade crack me up with statements like you made above. Just read some of your fellow owners reviews and most talk about is how it finally feels like a Japanese bike and how its great when you get the suspension re done. That just sounds funny about a bike that is 5 years ahead of its time.

KTM's still feel weird to me. I hope on a Japanese bike and I feel "at home"

Doesn't make sense but thats how it is. Ill stick with my jap bikes.

The 2016 KTM 450SX is 7 pounds lighter than the std. 15 model....the FACTORY EDITION 15.5 was 10 lbs. lighter than the std model.

The KTM has a steel frame (Kawi Aluminum) , spring forks (Kawi Air), electric start (Kawi kick starter), and a larger gas tank, but yet the KTM is still lighter with a full tank of gas. That's why imo the KTM is much more impressive when comparing the two. I like kawi's (Look at my name and avi bro) but damn, the ktm's have been killing it lately.... Also, the KTM's will have air forks next year making them even lighter. And another thing, the new Husky's might be lighter than the ktm because of the sub frame, even more impressive if true.

According to the engineers at the KTM dealer show I attended, the 2016 450SXF is lighter than then 15.5 factory edition by close to a pound. I have seen the lit you are citing and it's not correct.

All the bikes are awesome and I want 1 of each. I don't understand the fan boy aspects of slamming brands. Buy what you like and share your likes/dislikes about the bikes you own. Look in the mirror and say your high school girl comments about bikes you do not own to yourself and you will see how stupid you look.

Am I the only one who prefers the wider feel of kawis "before 2016"?

How did this 2016 Kawasaki KX450 thread turn into a "KTM is the best" argument? "It's lighter, it has E-start" We get it. You guys love your KTM. Good for you. Does anybody have the friggen Kawi yet?

I love how thin those bikes look. Everything looks good, except for that stupid point on the rear number plate. I'm curious to see what they actually weigh.

Not promising, it sounds like they neutered the power in the 2016 quite a bit. If I wanted mellow I'd buy a Honda. Kawis engine has been phenomenal.
