May take a little while to get parts made to make it race worthy but my money is on the new Honda.

Ktm should have the best hp to weight ratio again which seems to win in the 250 class. Electric start and brembo brakes don't hurt either. I ride a 15 yz250f and a 16 yz450f and am equally slow on both so I really don't think it'd change much for me. That said if I were to get a new 250 it'd be orange. I'm a jap bike guy but it seems like Austria puts more effort into their mx bikes. Yeah the japs are trying now with e start etc but ktm has been doing it for years and is still quite a bit lighter. The downfall seems to be the expense of owning one

Im considering a 2018 Honda 250f right now. The KTMs are awesome too, but man way expensive in comparison.

1. Kawi
2. Honda
3. Yamaha
4. Husky
5. Ktm
6. Suzuki.

Nothing is built like a Jap bike. Im curious if Suzulo finally updates their 250f in 2019. Also curious to see if JGR stll has a few 250 guys on the team since they'll probably be the main focus of Suzukis 450 effort and they have a all new bike.

KTM/White KTM if I was fast, and wanted to win.

125SX/TC if I were personally buying a new one soon.

(Currently race, slowly and occasionally, a 2008 YZ250F)

To bad reliability doesn't play into the shootouts. That would be a plus for the blue bike all day! That new Honda is interesting though. What is msrp with all the new goodies?

Didn't you have reliability issues after washing the YZF?

Specifically I like two design features. The finger follower cam actuation design allows for a more aggressive cam design then a cam over bucket design. Second the downdraft intake is ideal because the air path to both intake valves is straight and the same length.

Yes, with our 15. So far our 16 has been problem free.

KTM - I have a 2016 250 sxf and am very happy with it. However, as others have pointed out, the price difference between the KTM/Husky and Japanese bikes can make the Japanese bikes enticing, even to those who otherwise like the KTM/Husky. That price difference is likely to become less of an issue as the Japanese bikes get electric start and that difference shrinks (as it has on the 2018 YZ450F). It's safe to say that the 2018 CRF250R will see a significant price increase, and I wouldn't buy one with just the limited information now available (will probably be great, but I wouldn't assume so to the point of parting with my money!). I could pretty much flip a coin between the KX and YZ, but would wait for a redesign for the RMZ (the YZ is due for a redesign next year, but is a pretty solid bike already). I'm guessing that the Yamaha 250 will eventually go to electric start like the 450. I think Kawasaki and Suzuki would be smart to keep offering their bikes without electric start, but make it an option that can be added later. Then they can have price in their favor, but not be excluded by those who really want electric start.

It's Japanese, the short version is considered a racial slur...

It's lighter than one 17 250F and two 18 250Fs.
