I was told early march by our local dealers for both the SXF450 Factory Edition and the FC450 Rockstar Edition.

I "heard" a rumor it will be mid-March, we were really hoping to get sooner as LLQ's are starting....

Was at Oakland SX. KTM had a display with the 18.5 FE there. Nice bike! Quizzed the NAT SM about release dates. from his comments early March is more than likely

I received a call from Morgantown Powersports the other day saying it would be April, this was after I was originally told March.

why is it so hard for the dealer to give out a date, don't they just call a ktm sales rep and ask for a date...sorry just excited to get my FE

Often because they themselves don't get concrete answers from the manufacturer reps. Simple as that. It seems as it's always speculation until units have actually landed. From there units are allotted and more precise dates can be offered. I feel your pain!

they are making their way to Amherst Ohio distribution as we speak.

They will be released Feb 28th for shipping..

The KTM sales rep just told my dealer "March" which is vague but better than April.

Trevor pope Ktm and triple D Ktm, there’s only 400 2018.5 FE being produced for the USA market apparently. And yes the 2019 bike will be out around July/August as normal then the factory edition 2019 bike the start of next year

There has been a number of factory editions in Europe over the last few years? I know a bunch of people who currently own or have had one.

A few always came to New Zealand, but none this year.

There is no official delivery outside US. Certain dealers and former top riders has been able to get single units. Some other has bought in US, and had them shipped to Europe.

Back a few years ago Europe had the Cairoli FE 350, was that an aftermarket thing or did it come out of the factory?

Factory. There's been a few editions trough the years...Except from the Cairoli we also had the Nagl, Rattray, Roczen and Musquin edition

Yes there is, New Zealand always got 8 or 10, not sure if exact number. These came directly from Austria to KTM NZ.
I have friends with them.
They are not coming this year I had one ordered and got the bad news before Christmas.

We normally get the factory editions every year

Yeah normally over here we have been able to get them but they must be actually sticking to their word this year which is a shame really.
