It's the same as the 2017 but for cosemtic changes (orange frame, all orange plastics, 2018 graphics).

It's an awesome bike. Get one.

I have one. Very fast for what it is, very light and easy to ride for long periods of time without being worn out. Suspension is good stock and the handling was a pleasant surprise compared to other KTMs I have had - turns in a bit like an RM. Only complaint is that the jetting was quite a way off from new and the OEM reeds it came with were not sealing. The motor is also a bit peaky, and I’d like a slightly broader sweet spot, but I think I can get that by adjusting the powervalve. It’s good for a bit of fun and improving your technique.

As far as jetting are you running it 60:1 ?

Is that the book recommendation? Seems crazy to me but....I know guys having jetting nightmares then just ran 250sx’s 60:1 and it cleaned right up.

Do it! Every time I've ever had the opportunity to moto at the KTM Demo Days, my favorite bike and extra lap motos always goes to a 150SX (2015/16/17). Haven't ridden the 18' but I believe they finally made some durability improvements (gear box/AER forks). Was a little disappointed they switched from Keihin to Mikuni in 2017, but they've probably fixed a few of the 2017 jetting/reed sealing issues by now?

Manual recommends 40:1 for the 150SX

Just saw a 150 2018 on a dyno , for whatever reason, it makes more power at 3/4 throttle than wide open.

In my 125 SX I run 50/50 VP C12 at 40:1 and 91 pump at 60:1. The JD jet kit was the best purchase I could make for this bike. Way more power than I ever thought.

Rode a 17 for a day and loved it.
Yes the Mikuni stinks but it should be the same easy fix than on my 17 TC250 -> Keihin . Problem solved
At my (over)weight of 200 lb it's a bit soft at times but I can ride for so much longer!
It's a peaky powerband and I wish they would bring back the 200 but just as it stands it's the perfect example of playbike

I'm still amazed by the dedication (?) that some put in trying to get that TMX to run
These carbs on KTM/HVA have been out for more than a year but still pages of threads on slides/slides cuts etc..

I ended up with a Yellow pages thick (almost!) of what I call the "Mikuni experiment" on my 17 TC250
The Keihin allowed me to burn that book

I have fitted the JD jet kit and it is better, but still not happy with it. What Kehlin carb can I buy that will drop straight in?

The Mikuni was used on the Japanese 125's forever...and they never got a bad reputation. In fact, it is still on the YZ125 and no one ever complains. I have never had any issues tuning a Mikuni.

Think you boys are buying into the internet rumors too much, and need to buy some brass...

I have a 16 150 and I wish it had more overrev. It has basically none.

I had a Mikuni on my CR 250 and could not get the jetting right even with the JD kit. Keihin is the way to go IMO.

Mikuni’s are better than Bing or Amal but not Keihin. Tongue

Have you ridden a current KTM 150? They are very light and nimble but they feel like they make all of their power in the middle. It is a fun bike, don’t get me wrong, and the motor has enough torque to be able to lug it some unlike a 125 but... I guess I’ve always been partial to screamers.

I'd suggest spending a few dollars and giving it to someone who can tune carbs. Or sell it and just get a bike with fuel injection. It's really not a big deal to do some tuning.

I was just busting balls, I agree they do sign off in stock form a bit. Keep in mind I have very limited time on a 150. My KX125 hits very hard in the mid, then abruptly falls on its face....I think I am just used to shifting a small bore

I’ve got a 2002 KX125 and it is kind of slow overall but it screams and pulls well up top. The motor was built by Pro Circuit though.

Even our 2018 tc125 lacks over rev. I like the mikuni carb, it came on kx rm and yz125 for along time.

My rm144 has the mikuni also, it has better top end and over rev than the tc125, and 144s aren't supposed to rev.
