I take my father-in-laws 1986 Honda Trail 110 out once in a while. I get around on busy side roads with just enough power to keep up with traffic. Faster 55 mph zones can be a struggle if riding in any kind of hills. Makes me feel guilty downshifting and revving it out so much just to make sure I'm not a hazard in hilly areas. The 125 with EFI would probably make the bike hold 4th gear no problem up a hill. I wonder if the 2021 has a Hi and Low gear selector like the 86? I never used Low. Also, I did have this bike on a hitch carrier on the back of a motorhome. The handlebars have a release lever that lets you rotate the bars for transport. I wonder if this new 125 has that. Don't really need that though.


Fine looking bike there. I spent a bunch of time on a Trail 90 growing up. All offroad though, and I remember hi/lo being real nice to have.

Pretty sure the new version doesn’t have the dual range gearbox, but the layout is so similar, I wonder if they left room? If I recall, it was integrated into the left side cover separate from the rest of the transmission.

I’m concerned that 1st might not be low enough to claw up single track on the new model.
